What does mid tier art look like

After a year and a half I think I'm finally getting past it. Now I'm enjoying coming up with bigger ideas and seeing them to finish. Enjoying the process more than the result, which often surprises me yet somehow doesn't live up to expectations. It's tougher in a way but also easier, because you gain confidence in your ability to problem solve.
The worst is the beginning where you know nothing about anything. Just using a digital art program is hell. For like 2 or 3 months I was unaware my tablet sensitivity settings were disabled effectively making it a fancy mouse. Had to learn what all the little buttons and dials mean in SAI, which is a fairly simple program.
If you can push through that, and you're creative (not just doing things one way or the prescribed way but trying something new each time), and you have direction and goals for your art--taste--you'll get there. Somewhere better.

a lot of people made it with mid/low tier art if they can substitute their drawings with stories, see the guys who did Kaiji and OPM.

Begs don't know the basics, but always turd polish. Mid tiers have a loose grasp of the basics and often don't polish their work. Masters have a firm grasp of fundamentals and have polished their work.
