TLDR: twitch but join a streaming group.
Picarto is easier to get eyes starting out, twitch has more people overall, youtube is impossible to get eyes but billions of users.

Your best bet is to find a streaming group on twitch and ask them nicely to join. If you do that means their audience will have eyes on your stuff as well and they might host you
Be chill though, If you just gonna jump onto some random stream asking for promotion you're gonna get blocked real quick.

thats is in every place, literally, thats just a part of networking, if you want people to commission you, you have to go to the places, present your work, and wait, if you don't have any presence at all in that place, do not expect to get something immediately, that will not happen, it does not happen to anyone.
You do sfw things, you can find places literally everywhere, go to facebook groups, go to sections in Da, or in any low popular forum, reddit etc. It's as simple as searching up in google, no kidding

You need maybe 8hours to finish up one. That means, you could do 1 a day x 30 days or more.

Communication and revisions are too time consuming. Trust me it's much better to have 3x $300 commissions per month vs 15x $50 gigs per month. Unless all 15 of them are from same client.

Reddit. I had a few posts make the front page and every time I ended up selling a few hundred bucks worth of work within the day (I think the most was $470, which grew to $550 in the next couple days).

If you're good enough and post in the right communities (find a large one that fits, then check the sidebar of that subreddit for more specific subreddits, you'll probably have a list of a dozen or so) you can easily make that money.

Upwork is kinda what you described there, so just google "upwork alternatives" and you get a bunch of websites where you can throw out the nets.
It's not very good long term tho, they eat up 20% of your salary. Go there, get some professional experience and build a portfolio, then send that portfolio directly to people in the industry who're looking for what you're selling.

alright unironically-

statistically the west is willing to spend so much money on entertainment related stuff (art included), much much more than asia as example even though their artists are predominantly occupying the whole scene, both in skill and numbers.

now if you compare the earnings of asian vs artists, the western ones can easily go from 1.5k - 15k, while the asian ones generally go around 300 - 4k , with a few exceptions.

it's simple really, it comes down to community and popularity. These two go hand in hand, and it's the main source of income. Notice something? Asians lack that part heavily, their english is usually bad or non existent, and they can't build and maintain an western based online community whatsoever. They have no issue in asia, but like we mentioned the numbers are pretty low and the people willing to pay them are even lower since there is just so much competition.

to not drag it on any further for you; even if you don't like it, the biggest earners in the western art community are those who draw in a more western tumblrish style, some even outright comiky. It's just predominant, people copy their fav "hip" tumblr artists from a younger age and it sticks, it grows into a huge unspoken thing where everybody and their dog draw in such a way. So naturally since it's the most popular style and thing to do, normies and other people flock to it just to be part of that one big community.
