95% of art lessons are just /beg/ Loomis rebranded, usually a worse watered down version so that they can put the rest of the /beg/ material behind a paywall. Nobody makes lessons for intermediate artists because artists good enough to teach that shit are too busy working on shit and in those rare cases the teacher is a professional artist and not a teacher so he doesn't explain shit and expects you to just absorb information from a video.
Fucking Nathan Fowkes. "Simple statement" my ass, you just painted a fucking pagoda in 3 brush strokes, how the fuck did you do that, why don't you explain how you moved the brush or some shit. I watch the critique videos on student work and it's always some shit like "Uhmmmm you didn't render this accurately, here I lemme fix it" and they paint over it without explaining then they say "overall you did a good job, keep going"
