Has anyone ever seen a finished piece by Vilppu? I love his lessons and was curious about the type of art he made but all I can ever find are figure drawings or portrait demos, never any finished pieces. Anyone have any of his work they could share/know where I could find it?

figure drawing and portraits can be considered finished work if you think they are finished.

Judging by the replies in this thread, it may not exist. Weird.
Look up the cartoons he worked on and watch those I guess.

Vilppu truly is /ic/ incarnate. Spent his whole life mastering floating figures and heads without ever finishing a piece.

>tfw i only learned how to decently draw because i liked the way how he drew the figure

Was learning from Vlippu a good alternative than Loomis?

He's a bit more complex than Loomis. I'd recommend doing a little bit of Loomis first before diving into Vilppu. His videos on figure drawing are god tier though, I watched them as a /beg/ and learned a lot, and every time I rewatched them I realized that I was too stupid to really understand 90% of the shit he was talking about. I learn something new every time. I'd rank them over Loomis because they're more in depth and you can actually see Vilppu draw out the forms and guide you through the process.

I personally think Loomis is better for one reason: the manequin.

Vilppu doesn't touch that topic like loomis does. The manequin is the key to stop being a beg.

He has a lot of finished work that is done from imagination actually, he is actually a very prolific painter also, most of it is simply not online.

his and Steve methods are much better than Loomis
they teach you draw from life first after a while you will draw figure from imagination with no effort
their teaching also help in a lot of stuff other figure
