Sure someone like that will be good at art, but art isn't just technical skills. Creativity plays a huge role in separating technically perfect art from great art.

There are a number of artists who can do near photorealistic paintings. They're rarely the ones whose work hangs in galleries.

Of course, but if you look at commercially viable art, creativity is not essential. Just look at Ruan Jia. Great rendering, but little creativity. You can't compete even if you have creavity, because most people look for details and technicalities anyways. Even on this board, go look at /draw/, it's all technical, details, quantifiable essences. Sure, art is more than that of course, but it's a losing battle.

If your endgoal is getting famous then you’re in luck, because we live a time when it’s easy to get tons of followers from easy to make art, when technical skill doesn’t equate to greatness. You just have to manage your time better.

Kanekiru is pretty good and fairly popular online. She's 19 and going to college for computer science while she's doing art. She pretty much has no life outside of school, family, and art. Her social circle mostly consists of other artists she meets at cons. A good number of the Asian artists you see online have full time day jobs or go to school.

As for a unique style, try looking for older styles or traditional styles that are not well known but interesting looking, and recreate the effects digitally then merge it with your main style. Its a gimmick, but if you do it well it'll really make you stand out and give the the edge over better artists when it comes to normies. This is assuming you're at producing quality work that people would pay for already.
