IF YOU ARE A /BEG/INNER IN ART, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice. We should not have to make new threads or post in the Drawthread with our fundamental exercises.

Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.

RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:

#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead

#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller

#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

There's a new (and cleaner) sticky in town! You can see it at:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uwaXKU7ev6Tw_or__o8ARpUb6r2rCZYJGqwSFV9AD98/edit#bookmark=id.15jx3pyuimvj

TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.

depends how busy i am. i had chores and errands and other things to do all day. so this might be all im doing. i dont fucking know i still have like 4 hours left in my day and still have other stuff to do ffs get off my balls. that and i got addicted to poke mon quest this past week.

if you want to make it, a whole day’s worth of work should def be more than a very simple portrait sketch over and over.

actual life responsibilities are understandable, but I don’t see how your pokemon addiction is supposed to be an excuse for such minimal work desu that just makes it way worse.

>I thought you did these from imagination?
well yeah, if im copying from reference i dont do much deciding do it? if its from imagination i have decide, what angle have i not done in a while, can be challanging but not too extreme as to not be comletely unrealistic, what feature shapes have i not tried, etc. all that takes a little time to think about. exactly 5 min actually.

>What does these look like before they're "cleaned up"?
hard to say, think like a mix of chicken stratch and 'thick' lines because that got drawn to close together (ive learned that with portrait and figure too thick of lines can make massive differences when you go back paint it). its worse in some places more than others. obviously i suck at lips so i might spend a lot of time redrawing stuff. i should also add that after i draw the loomis head i draw REALLY simple features, which are then redrawn later, as place holders so i can check construction and proportions and such

stop allowing the devil to distract you and make you procrastinate when you should be drawing

satan attacks you because you're a soldier of the cross. you can take the sword of the truth of God and attack the gates of hell with your art. whenever you create art in the name of Jesus Christ, every demon screams in pain and that's why they hate you. you're a threat to the devil.

pray to God and ask him for things that are impossible because with God nothing is impossible. ask him to defeat the giants in your life because our God is a giant-killer. ask him to send fire from heaven and he will. ask him to walk with you as you draw and he will. he will give you the power to create great things if you ask him

stay positive instead of getting discouraged., you had the potential to draw the face much better rather than two splotches of dark value and some poor features.

your landmarks are superficial and you should construct the form through, rather than placing landmarks on a contour if that makes sense.

Why the thick neck, anon? I mean I can guess that the answer is you were trying to make it match the head, but usually a stylized large head won't have a proportionate neck (instead the neck will be proportionate to the shoulders; integrating that thin cartoon neck and the head itself will come with experience stylizing things. But now that I've told you, you can at least hard-stop drawing a hulk neck on your cartoon girls!)(I assume you're practicing realistic things too. Only way to git gud at cartoons.)

Interesting but you really shouldn't "study" anime if you are trying to get good at art. Drawing anime should come after learning the basics of human anatomy and realism. Anime is just a style and it is not accurate to real life human anatomy. You'll be a lot better at this kind of art if you get a grasp on how real human bodies look instead of just copying how anime bodies look. Most anime bodies are not proportioned correctly (look at her breast placement. Way too low on her chest. And her furthermost arm looks as if her shoulder has been dislocated. Real bodies do not look like that.) You will pick up bad habits if you don't study human silhouettes and instead learn from badly proportioned drawings. Sorry for the rant

What if I just use the cute anime girls to practice shape and color and then use real girls to practice anatomy/shading/drawing from reference. Like can I use anime girls for practicing shape and color if I turn the image upside down? Getting to fill in anime girls as a warm up gets me to sit down and start drawing every day. I don't want to learn bad habits though and am willing to practice correctly in order to achieve the ultimate goal of being able to draw girls I find are cute so I can prove to everyone that thicc waifu's are trash and that thinn waifu's with b-cup boobs are master race and have the best human figure, chiseled from the mind of man to be perfection.

you should work on your color choice. That blue for the pants is alarming my eyes because its so bright and saturated. You want to find a balance in colors when you choose them. I know your not aiming for realism, but look at the color choice for clothes. All the colors are fighting for dominance. It's like those websites for kids that choose bright saturated colors for everything and it makes you turn away in disgust or literally causes pain in your eyes. Tone down some colors. Not every color should be this saturated. Look at this video to see what I'm taking about

so i need need real critiques with these. im pretty sure theres so issues with the construction on the face but i havent actually studied this angle much to begin with so im having a hard time telling what, if any. as for the figure, that based off the panel below. my intent is for the blade to be pointed somewhat towards the viewer with the far elbow being extended straight out and the closer elbow arm being straight up and down if that makes sense. NOT swung like a baseball bat, but like a foreward thrust with the hilt being more horizontal

To understand how muscles work I recommend you to study foldings and wrinkles ( >>/ic/thread/S3349311#p3351538 ) plus memorizing the measurements ( Like pic related. Just google head measurements for artists or something, print em and pin them next to your desk for reference. After some time it will become second nature to remember them and you won't even need to look at them ) and some of the bones and muscles ( I would recommend just to memorize the ones that people forget the most like the zygomatic bone. Ground zero beginner in drawing, my first drawing I did for 6 hours ish, can I get some critiques? These past few days I literally follow the first few pages of Dodson's Keys to Drawing which said that I should draw what I fucking see first and foremost before considering any knowledges/perceptions combined with looking at anything as literal combination of shapes and colors while disregarding my overall impressions of anything

>> No.3471796

>>3471784
Yes. Draw just what you see. You get it.
However, anime style itself is symbol drawing so I don't think you'll get much from drawing it. Try something with more complicated shapes, angles and details. If you're able to draw from life, do it.

There's some decent images itt you can try drawing

>>3471828
Assuming if this isn't baiting then no. Also no such thing as talent in my opinion dude, I treat drawing like I treat music, if you suck at the fundamentals/basics then you just suck and you should grind/asking tips, nothing in between

I'm pure beginner in drawing but for example like when a square is supposed to be angled at 45 degrees with length around 1:10 compared to another shapes in a painting, then just draw it like that. I suppose that's the point of life drawing isn't it? The music equivalent is that when you press a note, if that note doesn't sound as good and clear like when it's being played by an experienced player, you just seek what's the cause and fix it by grinding/asking tips

Subjectivity only exists in non fundamentals/basics stuffs in my opinion. I just treat that cute animu girl in cold blooded way by drawing those so many small shapes as close as possible to the original lol. Just my 2 cents
