I'm having trouble with the arm, especially the part where the forearm meets the upper arm (not the elbow). Does it look fine to you guys? Same goes for the rest of the body, I guess.

You may be trying to accomplish too much at once even though you're aware of what you want to work on.

In terms of character appeal, the two major components to worry about are the pose and expression of your person. Notice how the person in the reference has a more relaxed, fluid stance, with her arms and legs conveying a different message than if they were straight (like in your drawing).

Expression-wise, looks like you were trying to go for something different than in the reference, but your drawing has no clear sense of what emotion your character is trying to convey. The eyes and face are straying from any conceivable point of interest, and it's hard to tell whether she's smiling, smirking, etc. Not to mention it clashes with the rest of the pose, giving mixed signals in terms of what's going on.

I really like how you made the clothes and hair flow in a clear direction, though. Keep it up.

first off, the the skull took 2 hours. learn to read. second of all, drawing a simple animu drawing and painting still takes awhile, but in all honesty the reason why it took too long was because some parts of the rendering were becoming too realistic/uncanny so i had to repeatedly start over

I am not saying to polish more the turd, but to do more quick sketches playing with different designs. Focus on 3 things : simplicity (which you already have, just mentioning it so that you don't lose it after designing it more), functionality (make shapes interlocking some more, don't just draw a hand here, then a forearm there, and so on. Put some shapes connecting the 2, like a tendon or a piece of armor), and variety (just trow ideas at the paper, one might turn out to be good, and then you can back engineer it and learn something new)

To be honest, your napkin/base is whats killing it for me more than anything on the cupcake itself. I like the look of the top of the paper crinkle.

This is entirely my bias, but I'm a fan of THICC colored outlines on heavily stylized stuff. I think you could do a little to make the white icing on the top more distinct in its separation from the brown icing. Right now it looks like its blending together a bit, could use a more defined dark value on its underside.

yeah and what happens when you need to draw mechanical things? buildings? furniture? you've already seem to have found an approach to figure drawing that works for you but the moment you have to do backgrounds or complex objects you're gonna have a rough time lol. doing geometric shapes doesn't do jack shit for anything that is alive and moves (figures+animals) but it allows you to sculpt pretty much any conceivable manmade structure so long as you're willing to sit there and do the construction

good stuff, but I do see some things that could benefit you or at least make doing those type of sketches/practice more better, and that's focusing on certain parts you might be lacking in, I'd suggest checking out how other artists go about the way they practice "sketch wise" to open up idea for more better practicing.
