Use to be me until I realized that cycle is fucking stupid, and worked on realizing what was making me depressed.

My dad has always encouraged me to get out there/not coddle me, I respect him a lot. Parents weren't really too protective but I never really went out much in the first place. I don't really have any independence because I'm a piece of shit.
