Something's broken, what do I do?

What do we draw?

>Whatever you want. At this point there's no required topic so draw your heart out. Make sure you submit at least a half hour of work or you may get a low effort warning.

What's a low effort warning?

>The goal is to get people to draw every day by turning it into a competition. The low effort warning system is to prevent people from posting last minute, quick sketches when they're feeling lazy. If you receive a warning and it happens again within a month you'll be eliminated.

>This rule has been the cause of a lot of concern amongst newer artists so let me reiterate: this system is to police low effort content and has nothing to do with the quality of the work. New artists are more than welcome.

What happens if I'm eliminated?

>A new Last Artist Standing challenge starts every week. If you get eliminated then get it together and rejoin next week.

How can there be a new Last Artist Standing challenge every week?

>This is a way to let new artists join in and to allow re-entry for the eliminated. Every week a new challenge is started. If you joined on week 1 and make it to week 2 then your daily submission counts for both the first and second Last Artist Standing. If you get eliminated then you're eliminated from both challenges and you'll be able to rejoin next week.

Will I have an advantage if I join later in the week?

>The winner of a Last Artist Standing will be the artist with the longest streak. If you join on day 1 and last until day 85 then you'll have a streak of 85. If there's only one person left in the challenge when you're eliminated but they joined on Day 7 then they'll need to continue on for another week. If they're eliminated before then, you win.

Some people on LAS are trying to get a secret santa thing going so if you're interested, read this:

Alright there seems to be a good amount of people interested.

How about we have a couple of weeks for people to sign up / send their information, and then say on the 20th November or whenever everyone's in it then locks and people will get randomly partnered up. You then have another couple of weeks to make your card or whatever, and then send it out in the first week of December.

I don't think you should have to still be active in LAS in order to take part, but please have your username in the email, and say if you want to send a digital or physical card. It makes sense for the digital people to be partnered up I think.

We can also have a challenge on LAS itself a week or two before Christmas for making a card for LAS in general, whereas the secret santa ones will be more personalized I guess.

Open to ideas on things to change or rules to tweak.

Look man, I know you're in a bad place right now so feel free to take a break from art if you think it'll help but there's something you need to realize. All the stuff in these threads are just jokes and memes and people busting each others balls. That streak number or week1 doesn't really matter at all, what matters is your own personal art progress. That's what you should be focusing on. LAS is just a side thing, it shouldn't matter if you have a 1000 day streak or a 1 day streak, what matters is improving. So don't treat losing your streak or being eliminated as anything more than a slight inconvenience, all it is is a number. Focus on getting yourself back together mentally and then focus on gitting gud. And don't take LAS too seriously.

I usually start with hard brushed colours, straight in with flats until the shapes are right, then use masks for gradients and basic forms, then paint properly on top. I don't use the soft brush much so I'm just trying out new things, best way to find new workflows is experimenting.

from what I hear this personality disorder is just changing the way you think, the way you take on problems based on your situation, like when you are telling yourself to be very careful when holding a baby, or telling yourself to be really fast when you are in a hurry, but on a more advance level. You don't change just the way you take on a problem (with care/ hurry/ strength whatever), but also the way you see the world (in my room I am me, I do and think what I want, in the house I am who my parents want me to be, I do and think what they would want me to, at school I am who my teachers/ other kids want me to be - the nerdy or respectively the cool guy- etc)

My life was not as bad as his so I did not have as many personalities. I don't even know if I really had personality disorder, since my personalities agreed to share memories and can't say if what I forgot is just me forgetting it, or another personality taking over. Now that I think about it, when I was in school and had this, my memory was not not one linear memory, but more parallel memories. one linear memory from home, one from class rooms, one from the breaks, one from the road, depending on which personality was in lead and those personality where in lead depending on the situation I was in. And because they were all shared memories, I had very few cases I can think of when I had memory gaps, and those are from when one personality takes over without the agreement of the one currently in charge.

I know this is not my blog, but because it's not my blog I am writing those here. I don't want those thoughts to be labeled with my name, and got nobody irl to discuss them with.

I don't have this anymore, since I kill off the strongest personality, at the time, in my 11th. The ''obey the authority'' personality. Which became the strongest in my 5th grade after I learned what death means. After I learned that i am responsible for myself, me, the spoiled and protect-by-all-harms me, decided to shut off that idea by starting to ''obey the authority'' at the price of stopping to do what I like, by stopping to have any opinion on my own on anything. This personality was weaker in summer, when not in school, and the strongest at school, which is where it was born too btw

I killed this personality when I decided to stop doing what others want me to do, when i realize I am responsible for my own happiness. Right now I am trying to bring back to life the ''observant me'', the one who likes to sit back and look at what others are doing. Because this is the oldest one, and the one who was in charge when I had no orders to obey since all my task were done. I am having troubles with this tho, because of games which don't let me sit back and observe the world around me, by giving me something to do.

hearing about sycra's internal rules is funny because I too leaved by them, don't kill, don't lie, don't smoke'don't drink. And it's ironic too because while I had a rule of ''never lie'' I was also very good at lying. A personality could lie to the one in charge about something it remembers and if it would believe it, on the outside I would speak like it was the truth because I truly convinced myself it was truth.
