im more of a mogoon fan but basically in the second picture (application) it looks like he's just skipping the construction lines and only drawing in the eye line.

Regardless, you shouldn't always follow the construction, sometimes you have to modify it a bit to fit what looks good (mogoon words).

It's all standing poses from the front, back and 3/4th. I'm a Hidari fan but I have mixed feelings desu. I'll admit I'm only 60% complete with it and have been jumping around mostly. I haven't really learned anything new per se, but I've enjoyed seeing the way he thinks and the demos. There a few video on materials and lighting the I really liked.
