My company is considering using AI even after our art team expressed their concerns about it. No one is getting fired yet but they want to introduce AI into our workflow. What's the situation like for other professionals?

>> No.6498994

I don't believe you. AI is not a problem.

It's happening and I'm concerned about it. We don't know to what extent AI is going to be used. This is a company that was also ranked as one of the best places to work in the country too.

Shouldn't the company wait to use AI art with all the legality going on? Seems too soon for them to jump on so quickly but then again companies will do what ever it takes to cut corners and make a profit. Im sorry about your job anon.
Now you might have to deal with a prompter who thinks they're better then an seasoned artist.

Probably larping or you're working for an extremely small studio that no one gives a shit about

I'd quit otherwise your shit is going to be fed into a machine then they'll fire you

Mine too. We're working on a game about hot gay sex and we're using AI to automate the thumbnails for the gay sex scenes. The future is bleak for artists.

Yeah this was expressed as a point against AI. They don't care. They still want us to figure out a way to use AI, but we all know that's just the foot in the door to eventually replacing all of us. Hoping another professional lurking around here would throw a white pill but the future feels a little bleak.

No larp, but correct; it's a smaller studio which has even bleaker implications. It's a no-brainer for large studios to be involved in these schemes but when even small studios are starting to get into it, you just know the writing is on the wall for the rest of the industry...

I don't have the luxury to quit without considering going into a completely different field. I honestly don't know what to do.

I'm sure OP is larping as AI shill
I tried making one game with AI.
It just doesn't work and it's for some short RPGmaker game. I can't imagine how much trouble on larger games.
>inconsistent charater outfit design. (see pic)
>Illustration involving one or more estabilished character is almost impossible, true it can be solved with inpaint by doing it one by one but it took shitton of hours and RNGfest, imagine you have 5 characters designed and you need the exact 5 of them on one illustration by using AI
>Most of the generated illustration is cropped even with (cropped:1.2) on negative prompt, you need to manually separate the character and background, fill the color, repaint, fix shit which took hours, probably longer than drawing it from scratch
>the asset like tileset is janky, there's a store with $15 per month for unlimited, which is thousands of assets and textures that saves you time compared to generating it and fixing it
>It can't generate GUI from what i tried, it actually can but it kinda shitty
What workflow? drawing a picture of floating girl staring at the camera #102293 is not vidya

I’m not a corporatist cuck snd I’m self employed so ai is nothing but a positive to me.

Sorry that you’re too much of an impotent weak willed faggot to unionize or secure your own employee rights while you had the chance but sounds like a sucks for you problem tbphwyf.

Why should anybody actually give a Shit about your plight when the writing has been on the wall for goddamn decades? Oh no you were stupid and put all your eggs into the Redbox of artistic production?!? Why should anyone here care?

Should fucking target employees make a blog post every time they get replaced by machines too?

I'm not a shill, I'm a working professional. From what I am observing, these companies don't care about the inconsistencies in AI art, they just want "in" on the technology before they've "fallen behind". They literally want the artists to find out a way to make the AI useful "to save on time" which is stupid because the art department has been consistently the fastest team in the pipeline. I think it is a not-so-subtle plan for paying us less in the future or hiring less artists.

Maybe posting this here is a mistake because everyone seems to prefer burying their heads in the sand instead of having an actual discussion. I don't come on here every day; in fact I was taking a break because of all the AI garbage being shilled here and the general doom and gloom crabbing. It wasn't until it affected my real life that I came here because there doesn't seem to be anywhere else I can go to talk about this and get a scope of how other artists in other companies are handling AI. I can't even talk to my own art team about this without them getting into throes of anxiety.

To avoid being replaced by AI, consider the following steps:

1. Upskill: Develop new skills and knowledge that AI can't replace, such as critical thinking, problem solving, and creative decision making.

2. Embrace technology: Show a willingness to learn and adapt to new technology, and demonstrate your ability to work effectively with it.

3. Be a team player: Collaborate with others and be open to feedback, as AI is often used in collaboration with humans to create better results.

4. Offer value: Demonstrate the value you bring to the company, such as your unique perspective, creativity, and expertise in your area of work.

5. Diversify your skills: Don't rely on just one area of expertise, but continue to grow and develop your skills in multiple areas.

6. Be proactive: Take ownership of your career and seek out opportunities to contribute and grow, such as volunteering for new projects or leading initiatives.

7. Stay informed: Keep up to date with industry trends and advancements in AI, and understand how they can impact your role.

Remember, AI is not meant to replace human creativity, but rather to enhance and support it. By embracing technology and showcasing your value to the company, you can secure your role and thrive in the changing landscape of the workplace.
