>How do I grow on Twitter?
Internet fame is nine times out of ten completely accidental and the remaining tenth time comes from pumping money into the system for the algorithm to "promote" you. Just fucking draw and you'll find a following in time. If you wanna speed things up try drawing weird fetish art of FOTM characters.

>>6439311
I don't feel like hashtags make a big difference on Twitter in particular unless is some draw challenge that's popular at the time, commenting frequently on other people's tweets may get you a bit more know on certain circles, but I think it's more effective if the comment goes with even a small doodle (not that I know, I rarely comment lol) but as the other anons have said the most effective way to give you a initial boost is to draw fanart from a big artist OC and hope he notices and gives you a like or Rt, from there on is up to you to start growing up a following

Tbh Twitter seems to be the worst platform to start from scratch with. It’s good if you have some friends who will follow and retweet your stuff to get the ball rolling but no one will engage with your art if you just make a new 0 follower account and start posting. Instagram has been better for me, people are more likely to follow you on there even if you’re a new account. I also gathered a few followers on TikTok and pixiv just by posting my stuff and using hashtags. No luck on Twitter tho.

I suppose I'll hijack this thread to ask a question too

If I unfollow artists on Twitter do you think they hate me now? Does it cause beef? Do they think I hate them? How do you guys feel about that? Sometimes I follow an artist because they made a cool work but then I realise I don't like most of their stuff so unfollow. I ony have about 200-ish followers and if someone unfollows me I really don't care but some people have said it's very aggressive.
Bigger accounts I don't think care but if they have a couple 100 followers or so I assume they notice.

Something happened to a number of accounts about a year and a half ago. I used to get lots of traffic, reactions etc even known concept artists would drop by my account.

Now I'm literally an employed artist at the heighest level I've been at and NOTHING gets out. Twitter is equally useless. Artstation has also been subverted. Sorry to hijack this thread but it seems there is basically no where to go for artists at all anymore.

I don't know why you are stuck on that point, I think you should share your passion to the world, post with a regular schedule and use appropriate descriptor to accompany your drawings, search out your people, others who are into the same things, or similar things you do, and interact with their content by liking, retweeting or making meaningful comments. It sound elementary and naive but its you can't always rely on viruality to increase your social media presence, but having meaningful interactions with other people can steadily build your following. I used to think people just pretend to be dense around here...

101 of business, offer something that differs, and market it, make a little animation of your manga, color it, advertise it, after that advertise yourself, that means doing trends for people to pay attention to you, you could make some memes fan art, colabs etc

Exactly. What you have to do is draw Einstein begging to suck Elon Musk's intelligent cock and mention Elon when you post it. He won't resist mentioning you back and then you're a millionaire. I know at least five artists who made their break doing stuff like this.

why do you have to suck sick to get traction? I don’t believe that is the correct way. I think twitter is broken and you’d have much greater success on other platforms.I notice a lot of weeb artists have thousands of followers on instagram with stores of their own and yet their twitter account is desolate despite uploading the same work there. I get attention without trying on other platforms.

Twitter is garbage but you get a whole lot of different people and communities. Instagrams and art station those art website are just for artist looking at other artists, meaning you won’t get commission work or patreon from there.

Twitter = different peoples so easy money

Insta = everyone is an “artist” so no one is paying there
