I know there aren't that much options in modern times, but outside of moeblob shit and similar they do it pretty fine (Those new Gundam movies look stunning from what I've seen). I don't know if it's mostly a problem of shit taste/coloring or what, but in most 2000s+ western comics and sometimes even concept art, faces felt either lifeless or pretty ugly, at times both. Political correctness seeking into everything and corpos hiring cheaper artists didn't help either, see picture related.
