For the first time in a very long time, I drew for a few hours. Afterwards, when I walked around the house everything looked extremely 3d and I couldn't stop noticing the forms, depth, and perspective of everything around me, felt weird/cool. Does this happen to you guys? I'm assuming it's my brain trying to get better at encoding 3d information.

Yes, I've had two similar experiences.
The first one was after working on the same master study over the course of a couple of days. I had painted for four hours or so when I went out for a walk. I looked up at a tree and I was completely stunned by all the color I saw. It was as if I had suddenly grew more cone cells in my eyes and I was able to perceive 10 times more color information than usual. I found myself walking around in a version of reality akin to a impressionist painting with an explosion of hues that should be imperceptible to the human eye everywhere I looked. After about ten minutes it suddenly disappeared. I've never done psychedelic drugs, but the experience was positively psychedelic.

The second experience had more to do with form. I had been doing low poly modeling for six hours straight. Again, I went out for a walk.I looked at some rocks and was surprised at how intensely I perceived their form. I felt like I got the vision of a T-800 Terminator and wrapped wireframs over everything and see the far corners that were hidden from sight. It's really hard to describe in text, but as you said everythign just looked "extremely 3d".

I've had that experience. You should be careful it doesnt overtake the way you see things.

We're more than measurement and physicality. Don't let your art become only concerned with what can be dissected out of life.

A few months ago I did the first observational drawing I had done in around 4 years and it felt like my brain was rewired afterwards.
Not just in my perception but it felt like all my priorities were suddenly different, things I had cared about before I suddenly didn't care about at all (mostly personal annoyances that I've forgotten the details of now).

That’s not healthy nor sustainable. What about tomorrow when you try something new and your entire priorities shift and you give up drawing? No single thing that you do should change everything except maybe idk having a kid or moving country

woah chill hoss no problem. Just some advice from experience is all. Don’t let things suddenly change everything is all. It’s best to grow over time. Sometimes there will be highs and lows but things shouldn’t generally change your ENTIRE priorities and perspective
