My gf, the learning process became an obsessive and fallow period where I got way too serious at the cost of having fun drawing or being productive and I drove her away by being a manic stressful obsessive researcher. Glad I made it past that fallow period.

Your critique is pretty barebones and doesn't offer much insight, but I do agree with it to an extent. I'll admit that it is an older piece from a year ago. It definitely does have flaws that I recognize. I'm not about to go back and fix everything from it, but instead focus on improving my new drawings and learn from my past mistakes.

I think it’s the flat plane you have the genitals on that’s making it look strange. You shouldn’t be seeing it directly on and get the 3 shape of the vulva at the same time as you are seeing the butthole. The way you have it stretched out would show the slit of the vagina not the front of the vagina like you have it.

I only said those things because I love you and you have a lot of well earned skill, you are at the threshhold of being another skilled artist or a truly exceptional one. I think you need to explore designing a more at every stage to let your voice and identity show through, have a look at Paul Richards’ blog autodestruct. Plus your values, they’re in the digital artist uncanny zone, whereas to make your piece even more attractive you need to study classical greats and cinema

Started when I was gifted a small wacom bamboo tablet back in 2014 for Christmas. Didn't really use it too much until 2016 since I was still in high school. Here's a progress pic I posted here a short while back.

I draw with SAI2. This is the brush I use most of the time. Basically I use the default brushes with some minor settings adjusted to give a more blendy and painterly feel.

Quite a jump from 2015 to 2017 in terms of rendering. I'm still stuck with /beg/-tier rendering abilities, looking for a way to solve that if you don't mind sharing anything that helped you improve so fast.

Money. If I'd kept working in software like all my friends, I'd have a lot more of it now. However those friends are all incels who've spent their entire life in the office creating software that will never make anyone happy, whereas I've travelled the past ten years, made countless friends and cute girlfriends, had dozens of extended vacations, smiled the whole time and made countless people happy with my art.

Plus my friends are already having trouble getting employed now that they're - gasp - in their forties, whereas I'll just get better and more popular and will probably charge ever increasing amounts of money for my art even in my eighties if I want.
