The XP version is better because it has the brush size hotkeys. I noticed the Javascript version is buggy with the square brush.

I think I actually draw better in Paint because I don't have to worry about opacity or stroke width or anything. Having no skew/liquify is annoying, but that's about it.

idk if this an adhd thing but whenever I draw digitally I hardly ever use a reference because I get distracted instantly. Should I switch to one of those tablets that have a screen?

how is your setup physically? do you have to move your head to look at the reference? ideally your reference and your drawing surface are at the same level and you only have to move your eyes.

im 6 ft tall which is not insanely tall yet i still have to hunch over to do anything. biggest thing about digital is that my back hurts really bad in the position ive illustrated. And no I dont have the money im an artist.

is what's on your lap a wacom or paper? if it's paper you're hunching over to draw right? ouch

i don't think getting a screen tablet is going to save your body. sounds dorky but consider getting an easel or drawing board. lot less $$

also you would probably benefit from raising your monitor in general.. put some old books under there

Before I really tried to learn to draw I used to make a lot of paint doodles while listening to podcasts and such. Usually ideas for comics (and never the comics themselves as I had and still have no idea how to make them).
This one was supposed to be a gag comic about two schoolgirls who would hang around and talk about overcoming some sort of mundane problem every strip (never anything to do with politics, like late homework or whatever), and punchline was that the the solution they'd always reach would end up being that they'd need to assassinate the president.
I imagine it would have not been very funny,

Then I believe these were from when I wanted to make an 'isekai thing' (because I was reading a lot of shitty web novels at the time) and I was trying to think up costume design.
But I was going to have it be the twist that the protagonist was really a homunculus created by a wizard conman who was trying to pass himself off as having summoned a legendary hero from another world according to ancient prophecy, etc.
Protagonist would find this out early on and it would end up being like a crime thing where they scam nobles and such into thinking they can do miracles outside the rules of normal magic and make a bunch of money.
