What’s a good tutorial for rendering similarly to the artist, Seth McGhee?
The guy did speed paints but I dunno if it’s good to study speed painting

I heard they're going to use a subscription for their software. Is that true? I bought the pro and wanted to know.

Just looks like regular digital painting rendering man. Just study your fundies and practice your brush and edge control and you'll understand what I'm talking about with that. I guess if you watch him paint you could get an idea for what kind of brushes he uses or what his general process is so it can be useful for that much.

>>4665801
As far as I know, no. They offer subscription along with outright buying it but once you have paid for the non-subscription version it you own it forever. iPad CSP is the only thing that's *strictly* subscription based. I don't see why they would change their regular program to sub only when they advertise a one-time fee vs photoshop's sub only model as a way to bring in customers.

Is there a way to do Paintman-style color fillings in CSP?
As in, you fill a transparent area but it also fills in the red/blue/green parts with it.

Well that's the closest you can get to liquify in CSP. Pretty sure the brush I linked is called liquify brush and acts like liquify.

Or you could just get good at drawing and not need a crutch like that. :)

I've been trying to do some anime frames on CSP and I can't find anything on coloring anime style.
Not even googling クリスタ アニメ仕上げ gives any result.

Adapt or die.

With that out of the way are you using Vector layers as a Reference Layer?
cuz you can set those to the reference layer then turn on "Fill up to Vector" and "Area Scaling" using the Fill bucket on another layer.

Yes, I used a vector layers for the lineart and light/shadow separations because it's easier to erase the intersections with the vector eraser.
Using a reference layer doesn't fill the areas correctly, however. The red/blue/green areas stay the same.

Does anyone know if it's worth purchasing the CSP EX version over the Pro for comic making purposes? Does the page manager and the materials present in the EX Version help in publishing e-mags etc? I use InDesign to publish books and all, does it offer the same/better convenience when printing/pdf?

Thanks in advance.

Ok so after a few mins of experimenting I found another way that is closer to what you want but you can't use vectors and linework that is too thick fucks it up. (so duplicate your vector layers, rasterize them then combine to 1)
1. Have the linework/coloring guidelines on a separate raster layer set to "Reference".
2. Create separate layers for Highlights, Shadows and Base
3. Use default "Close and Fill" bucket with area scaling turned off or 1 whichever u want. (it gives u a lasso)
4. Using "Close and Fill" lasso the parts you want filled in each color layer.
5. Put your black Vector linework on top.

Seems like the ball posted here >>4665931 gets really close to what the anon is looking for except the outer edge doesn't extend as far as the black linework without area scaling, everything on the inside works almost exactly how he wants though.

I think this is closest thing you will get until Celsys adds more animation stuff or there is some other workaround I haven't found yet.

>> No.4666983

>>4666973
I mean if you think it's worth having a simple page manager, 3d book preview, and export from CSP to a bunch of different ebook formats, sure. If in design already covers this stuff for you then don't worry about EX. If you really think those couple of features will help you a bunch then go for it.

This is what I'm actually looking for (sorry for the shit quality, I can't into webms).
Notice how the fill paints over the red lines.
The whole point of this coloring method is that everything stays within a single frame. There's no need to make separate layers for coloring.
I know it can be done in CSP since there are anime studios that do their entire animation production on CSP, like the guys from Ishizoku Reviewers.

Production Pipeline for 2D animation is CSP to OpenToonz or PaintMan then to another program for compositing and VFX.

Here is the Tutorial for CSP to OpenToonz and how to prep the coloring.
https://tips.clip-studio.com/en-us/articles/1650

download the animation color set here https://assets.clip-studio.com/en-us/detail?id=1691252

Celsys plans to keep supporting RETAS and Paintman but also plan to slowly incorporate their features into CSP as CSP is the successor, the reason the coloring is taking so long to incorporate is because they are relying on OpenToonz to fill the gap while they work on other features.

Just look up Grease Pencil stuff.
It is still a bit clunky but the Grease Pencil team is keeps updating it with new features.

Man, if only Celsys would get its priorities straight and fix some of the shit with the program (brush optimization, a smoothly functional mesh transform, various little performance bugs, utilize the gpu more, etc), and throw in like a scripting engine or something to be able to make addons and stuff they could corner the market as far being the big photoshop art alternative goes. Instead they do crap like 10k usd contests for tutorials and other promotions, or work on features no one gives a shit about like qumarion.
In a few years Krita is gonna get it's shit together and become the art version of Blender 2.8 (or procreate comes out for the desktop or something) and the window for CSP really pulling ahead is gonna close.
