IF YOU ARE A /BEG/INNER IN ART, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice. We should not have to make new threads or post in the /draw/thread with our fundamental exercises.

Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make YOURSELF feel proud.

RESIZE YOUR IMAGES - try ~1000px, <1.1mb

TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.

So i'll give you the idea. This is done in paint and really rudimentary. You really have to take time when drawing. Take my image as an advice on how to tackle it in the beginning not as the perfect way to go. It's best to read some book about these topics.

What you see are the things I told you about

Yes you should. But always draw objects that are infront of you or lying around. Key chains are also a great way to learn (A lot of negative spaces wich force you to stop symbol drawing).

Yeah I'm still new to using CSP even though I've had it for almost two years, usually I drew on a small canvas but I've been trying to draw bigger so I've set it to 6000x6000 because they said to this guy >>4652593 and it feels better, I just don't know which is a good image resolution to scale. I did read that most artists downscale their work so their line work won't look so messy but I'll have to work on that too.

loomis heads aren't everything. draw 20 faces for three minutes each every single day (1 hr) starting with a circle and a box and you'll eventually create your own method of constructing a head, out of necessity of hitting the 3 minute time limit. it will probably involve a circle and a box. i sometimes start with the "T" formed by the brow ridge and nose because it determines so many other things. you'll also find that you'll want to study individual elements of the head rather than everything all at once. so like, 20 mouths at 3 minutes each showing the more or less correct place on the face (the mouth wraps AROUND the front of the face), 20 pairs of eyes at three minutes each, etc. then all this comes together and you can do heads a lot better.

This is not bad at all anon. Things are off a few milimeters here and there, enough for most people to notice. If you're doing portraits, its worthwhile to be very careful with your measurements and constructions. And get everything figured out in line first before adding value, you're rushing to shading too early, and your shading is too messy. Get a clean line drawing first. Case in point: the hair is just a bunch of scribbly shapes, when really hair should be rhythmical, almost lyrical.

Use a true perspective drafting method like Scott Robertson does and ignore Muslim box peddling websites, establish a horizon line, measure the vanishing point angles and construct a grid, read perspective made easy and then how to draw by Robertson. Drawing 250 shit boxes is going to make you really good at wasting your life instead learn linear perspective in a stepwise and concerted method. What autists and Redditors don't understand is life is not RuneScape and u don't get xp everytime you draw a box, so you can just do a million and gain art levels. I just know how to target an audience and I can say that you need to find out your audience. It's needs to be as specific as possible, not necessarily laser-focused or niche.

If you're going to be a blog artist, you need to find a platform that allows you to communicate with those people. You need to find ways to plug yourself on different other sites that contain members of the audience you're trying to reach. Free art is a huge help. You have to advertise yourself and your blog through the art.

Hello, I think this is my first post in this board.
For the past few months I've been trying my hand at gouache painting, and I like the medium very much.
My biggest inspirations in painting are impressionism and some types of neoimpressionism/early abstract styles. I'll post some of the paintings I've made that I think are the better ones, so any critique will be welcome.

See, I want some of you to understand that if you post something like that, it is most likely that you will not get any critique or comentary. "The face is wrong, you're symbol drawing". You already know that, right? And it looks like it wasn't your objective to make it look accurate, either, so there's not a lot to say.
Same happens with >>4654217, for the sake of giving a more explicit example.
Unless you tell the rest of us what do you want to achieve with the drawing and what do you want to get better at/what you think may be wrong with what you did, there's nothing and everything to critique at the same time.

the hand looks nice unless you really examine it. the side with the pointer finger and thumb is much longer than the side with the pinky and though the pinky is closer to us. the problem is you drew the bottom of the palm tilted to the left and you drew the fingers tilted to the right.

It’s not a one-off thing—it’s good as warm up every now and then, but don’t dwell on these kind of exercises too long or you might get burnt out...

Study other topics that interests you too (eg figure drawing if you’d like to draw humans some day). Draw for fun!

the guy who said it being zoomed in too much is wrong. that doesn't matter at all. the problem is you didn't put the pupils in the center of the eyes. your right pupil is way off to the irght. also the tear ducts should be so pointy. psace between the eyes isnt big enough. brow shape is wrong. its not terrible i dont want to discourage you, but its just some obvious things that you drew differently from the reference

youre a beginner. i dont want to be too harsh. biggest things that stand out to me are the arms are pretty unappealing. you did't draw any shoulder at all. and where the wole upper arm including where the shoulder would be is skinnier than the forearm. and the the neck looks so thick compared to the size of the torso, but its also really skinny compared to the head. so check out the proportions of cartoon characters you like. something about this is not working in terms of neck size. legs are also very skinny, and it makes me a little uncomfortable to see what looks like a young girl with her legs spread like that. those are my suggestions for now

I think your main issue is you are drawing her side planes as though they are flat in 2D space
I drew a little box to help visualize
when the face turns that corner at the brow/cheekbone ridge, and at the hair line for the top plane, they should shorten into the background
