IF YOU ARE A /BEG/INNER IN ART, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice. We should not have to make new threads or post in the /draw/thread with our fundamental exercises.

Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, or you literally are never going to make it.

I know now the next question! Knowing you, being the faggot that you are, digging in deep all the time, you will say now: "What does the /beg/shits think of posting arnold?".
Let me ask you something, when its the /int/chads that have introduced me to arnoldposting, what are the /beg/s gonna say? They're not gonna say "the /int/chads have made a mistake" because the /int/chads never make a mistake ! So therefore it is okay, I can arnoldpost around here, I can arnoldpost in my board. First of all, because the /int/chads introduced me to arny, and second of all, because I'm a STUD. I'm BALLSY. I don't take no shit from anyone. I post my arnold ANYWHERE I wan't! Some ground rules to start this thread and the next /beg/ threads off:

>if you are /beg/
Don't ever give advice.
You can relate and share your hardships with other /beg/s, but never give them advice.
If you MUST give advice, start the reply off with "I'm beg, but what worked for me is..."

>Before you post your work
1. Every person giving advice here expects for you to have at least read some of the sticky, and that you already know what you should be doing to improve.
In that light, replies such as "grind more fundamentals" are perfectly viable advice.
We expect you to know what the general fundamentals are (gesture, anatomy, perspective, drapery, etc.), and we expect you to know where you can find resources to practice these subjects.
Sometimes literally the only good advice to give is to practice more and improve your technique.

2. DO NOT post your 5 minute sketches that you didn't put much thought into. If you do post them then make sure to ask for SPECIFIC advice on a specific subject.
If you post a doodle and ask "where did i go wrong" or "how should I continue from here", expect to get meme replies such as "Loomis".

Follow these simple rules and the generals will become much more productive for both the /beg/s and the people giving advice

A hydraulic piston defeats the purpose of a pincer. Hydraulics can only provide a pushing force, and rely on gravity contract. So this pincer will have zero pinching power.
Also hydraulic pistons are slow as fuck and are only meant to move extremely heavy weights.

Moebius would juxtapoz an orange against a blue like that, but the planet and sky would be different values of the same blue - you've got 3 hues fighting for attention here. Mobius was a genius at choosing color, you'll need to study what he was doing more, and how he layered hues and values, especially as he typically worked in watercolors and inks. You'll need more unification in the blues to get more of a Mobius feel. He was very specific in terms of what colors he chose, and how he applied them.

Not bad as a starting attempt. I wouldn't have chosen the pink for the background, or that saturated a hue, as it's competing with the foreground and focus, and look at the apple in terms of hue. There's way more color in there than green, I guarantee it. Look for hues in the shadows, and highlights. I don't understand what's going on with the white, but I'll chalk that up to beginning experimentation.
Look at brush strokes, too - learn to pay attention to them now, so it becomes habit. Don't just randomly fill areas with random strokes, like the table - mirror the direction of the strokes in the background with the foreground. As one of my painting teachers always told us, every inch of a painting should be intentional and defendable, even if it's "blank".
Don't have a mix of vertical/slanted/ horizontal strokes, use them to make zones more appealing. This really matters if you're going to paint this loosely.
Let the paint dry, and watch your edges. The pink edge on the apple is unappealing - and, always paint the background before the foreground, and let it dry if you're laying down that much paint. Look overall at your color composition - you have essentially green, pink, and grey. That's not very appealing, nor interesting. And, that pink should be reflected across the scene, as a background color that vibrant would influence everything, even if it's just some reflection in the rimlight.

Nice composition. Red and green are complementary colors, and the light pink contrasts the dark green well.

The white hot spots appear to not be mixed well. Mixing the paint more thoroughly beforehand would produce less jarring streaks.

Is that acrylic? I don't paint much but IIRC acrylic is not good for mixing on the canvas because it dries so fast.

I've only really started drawing a few days ago and I tried to do a simple gesture figure but I guess I kept going at it for about 10 minutes. Anyway, I'm a little iffy with the left arm and some of the proportions of the torso (I don't feel like I gave it enough torque either) but I'm kinda proud of the legs considering I'm not too well-versed in anatomy yet.

I'm going to reply with the reference. Any tips, critique, and suggestions?

So it looks decent as your drawing what you see, so essentially "copying" but that's only going to take you so far. As you've only been drawing for 2 days that's fine, just keep drawing and make it a habit. But eventually you'll need to start breaking down the 3-dimensionaliyu of the figure make it more solid etc. If check out Steve hustin's book way more beginner friendly then Loomis figure drawing imo after you get that shit down go to Hamptons analytical figure drawing to learn anatomy. That's what's working for me.

You actually got the relative positions and angles of all the body part correctly.
The torso so is too short. Hip and ass need more work.
Another point is that you need to use less lines. Right now you're scribbling way too many lines and most of them are meaningless. Try to be very conservative and put a lot of thought where you put your lines.

You drew a face on a blank background with no neck or body connected to it. There's no form to speak of, but it's stylized enough where it's not unpleasant to look at.
I have no idea what you want out of a critique of this. More realistic? More stylized and appealing? Composition?
Assuming it's as realistic as you want it, It's executed relatively well, but there's nothing special about it. It leaves the mind just as easily as it enters it.

I got one (1) with the tablet. I only just took off the sandpaper "protector" and adjusted the pressure on it so it should last longer now and not strain my arm from how hard you have to press down.
I just bought 100 from ali express, hope they aren't fake and ruin my tablet somehow. This one i have left should last a month more hopefully.

Deco 01 V2
Was 60£ + shipping and it's battery free with 8k pressure levels and it's as large as the largest wacom.
The only problems are the shit tier sensitivity as you have to press down for it to notice your pen is even there and the very high probability of getting poisoned by the cheap shitty carcinogenic plastic and glove you get with it.
Also the obvious problem that i have no nibs and i must draw.

having a clean line work is really hard, dont get discouraged. If you're wobbling too much it my be because of bad posture, how you hold you pen, doing the line too slowly. Try searching for good tutorials to get a reference of how to have some fluid motions and have a good position while drawing. You dont have to have super clean lines to draw too, if you watch some pros sketching they start with a mess and take time to refine it
