mine had issues where it grinds against the inside, causing issues with the sensitivity jumping around (and also felt uncomfortable and shitty to use.)

I managed to bandaid it slightly with some dielectric grease, but eventually it wore away, and I added more and made it barely functional.. so I cleaned it out with alcohol to correct my mistake, and then I ended up with https://twitter.com/itsukarine/status/1244187884883763201 which is basically just a worse version of the issue before i ever did anything, when its fully clean the grinding is like 300% worse.

also if you ever pour rubbing alcohol down the nib hole, make sure to take the grip and buttons off and blow into it and shake it a lot to make sure nothing is left in it/it all dries off before you ever press it to the screen.

You're going to have plenty of negative reviews on anything Wacom due to people buying them that have no fucking clue about how computers work, much less the even-more pain-in-the-ass drivers that pen tablets have. That's how it goes when you've got name brand recognition.

By comparison you'll get people who are poor but can google and need to justify every little expenditure looking at the cheap Huions and whatnot and trying to compare the raw stats when the actual tablets are a decade behind anything that Wacom makes.

Most pain in the ass part about the latest USB-C powered Cintiq Pros that I've found was that you can't use any old C cable on them. Been trying to find another longer cable to use on mine, but only this damn official Wacom cable seems to power it properly.

Purchase the square-trade warranty and always be on guard to see if the screen starts malfunctioning.
Shit like the edges of the screen having trouble with keeping the pen aligned are early signs that your pen display is about to fucking die, also it turning off by itself, colors getting decalibrated way too quickly, buttons remaining pressed.

Good to see 10-12 year old wacoms still on the market working perfectly fine, really tells you their build quality and how much the new models are expected to last.

I have a Huion Kamvas Pro 22 and I was blown away how good it was. I have no comparison, though. never used another screen tablet. Used a Wacom Intuos Pro 4 before. My main fear was parallax effect. I notice none of it with the Kamvas, which was a great relief. Also no lag and no jittery lines. I was very worried at the time of the purchase and yet: I don't think I'd need anythign else! I'd only get a new tablet if they develop thinner ones. I can not really move it around as I please. It stands on my desk. Theres no way to lean it against my desk and lap as I often did with the non-scree tablet. That's the reason why I still use the Intuos Pro 4 sometimes. To rest my eyes and to sit down, change my posture. I mostly use the screen tablet on a standing desk, althoguh I adjust sitting and standing throughout the session. I am, however, a little bit worried about what will happen to the screen on the XP-Pen over time. I've basically narrowed my choices down to:
>Refurbished Cintiq 22HD, 900$
-older, won't be supported as long
-2048 pressure levels
+has a good stand, can rotate
+I hear good things about durability/longevity
-higher parallax?
>One of the Huion/XP-Pen 22in models
+new
+8192 pressure levels
-heard mixed things about durability/longevity
+cheaper
*like a dozen different models idk they all seem pretty similar

If it makes a difference, I'm more interested in drawing rather than painting, so something that can precisely make the detailed lines one wants is important (hatching, perspective constructions, etc)
I've heard the 1080p resolution at 22' is usually good, but if it makes an important difference I'd consider going for a somewhat smaller/higher pixel density.

For anyone having an issue with a Huion tablet and for this anon >>4482826

Maybe you have to do a firmware update. Not the driver but the firmware.
I bought a Kamvas Pro 13 when it came out (precommended it actually) and there was an issue with wobbly lines and some parallax on the sides of the screen. It was nothing really annoying for me but Huion released an update to fix that.
I thought it was a driver update so I updated and I didn't understood why I still had the problem. I forgot about that and discovered litterally minutes ago that all I had to do was a firmware update. Huion could have been a little bit more clear about that. But anyways if you have a problem with your tablet, try to download this https://www.huion.com/firmware.html and follow the instructions.
My lines are now way more stable and the parallax effect is greatly reduced. That was a silly situation.

Thats the problem with buget monitor tablets. They still don't have a decent amount of pixel density.

I had the same problem with my Huion GT 190 monitor. What i do is basically connect the tablet to the pc but turn off the monitor and use it as a screenless tablet.

Also next time either go for a screenless tablet or an ipad.

The newest wacom I'd recommend is the 2015 Intuos Pro M. Make sure you register that shit right out of the box. The second your USB port breaks or your wireless gets fucky, report that shit ASAP.

I'd also recommend getting a screen protector to put over the active area because it is way too rough, and grinds nibs down like sandpaper. This is also great if you're someone who likes to sell off your old tablets after you get a new one, pristine condition active areas allow you to charge a higher price because of the good condition.

I've had a cintiq companion 2 for 4-5 years already and just recently the battery fuck off on me and it doesn't work unless I'm plugged into the wall. It says no battery detected, so I'm worried that it'll one day just not turn on. Haven't had any luck finding a replacement battery and Wacom estimated a 300 dollar fix to send in and thought that was a load of bs.

Just recently got a desktop and was looking at reviews and videos of wacom, xp-pen, huion, and gaomon.
Got down to xp-pen r22 ($700) and cintiq 16 ($650). Went with the cintiq for familiarity. Had gift cards so I got it to around $475 so either the upgrade or battery fix.

Haven't gotten it yet still using the companion 2. Wondering if anyone has or has used the 16 and can offer any insight into what I should expect/test out once I receive it.
