Anyway you want to work with the pic you like to learn from it. The pdf guide above has a good process. You learn how to work with a pic, then you trace and copy that pic at a simplified level, then you try to replicate from memory. In the beginning of your drawing journey I recommend just the tracing part to avoid having your hatred of your art and skills coincide with your attempts to pick up and use a pencil. Fifth. Rendering. Light, color, brushes, blah blah. I only know the very very very basics. There is an abundance of books, vids, internet tutorials on these. I haven't touched 99% of them so I can't really recc anything.

You're done. Does your drawing look clean? Nice. Do this process with different refs, with different poses and angles and lighting etc etc. If you just traced without copying and memorizing you'll probably want to switch over. But what if your shit doesn't look clean, and looks like mine instead of the ref? Go back to your learning material if you think you need it, if not, just try to redo this process on the same pic. Maybe you need accuracy or perspective help from KtD or EP (which hopefully you'll be revisting and not reading for the first time). Don't get obessed with the same ref tho. You probably just suck at drawing and need to draw more. At least, that's what the guys who can draw tell me. On 4chan and irl So ultimately you're doing the same shit whether or not your copy looks good or not

So Aoi Nagisa, Suruga Kreutz as well as a few other artists seem to give their girls this almost horizontal line right above their legs. I think it's really hot and I'd like to start doing that shit too but a few things concern me.
First, I haven't found any picks with real non obese women that would have this line. Even in mature well developed women, which is the type of women that seem to get this line on their drawing. Even on pick of the obese ones that I've skimed through this line, although present, was much more V shaped. All this leads me to believe that this line is product of fantasy. I guess it's fine, but I don't really want to stray too far away from real anatomy.
Second, some of the characters I think of drawing with this line are pretty young. Why is this a problem should be obvious from what I previously stated.
So I guess what I want to ask you anons is to tell me whether I'm retarded and this line clearly exists and it is sometimes horizontal and I can draw it on lolis or I shouldn't care about it at all and just draw as I see fit or try to stick closer to the real anatomy after all.

Just find/use whatever works for you until things *click*. I'm still an art babby, but things have clicked recently for me when drawing heads after just simply studying my own head in the mirror and literally feeling the form with my hand (+being more conscious of measureing space between features), so I didn't even really need a book for that aside from Loomis teaching me some useful measuring tips.

They have a tendency to be very sharp and inked in.
The individual contours have too much detail, and are too small.

I'm trying to break away from my extremely time consuming clean art rendering to instead draw more and do quick rendering of sketches but I can't find a good style to copy and I dunno what brush would feel best. That was my issue with it, too, and why I don't recommend it to new artists. You can pretty much skip mostly everything and just do the exercises if that helps.

This is still a bit tricky for me as well, but what I find helpful is looking at the largest regions in relation to the line you're trying to make. Say, if you're trying to find where to put the nose, look at the region between the browline and the bottom of the chin. In most faces, the bottom of the nose is halfway between the browline and the chinline, and the top of the nose starts roughly at the browline. There are variances in humans of course, but anatomy is useful since humans are roughly similar to each other.
Anatomy isn't always going to cut it though, and that's where you'll need to get decent at measuring in your head or using your thumb/pencil/a literal ruler (though practicing measuring in your head saves lots of valuable time.) It's not too hard, really. It's basically making measurements like "the right side of the face is is one eye wide while the left side of the face is three and a half eyes wide!" You won't get perfect measurements each time, but it'll help prevent faces and objects that look like they're melting.

The biggest tip I can give though is just to be patient and take your time studying your reference before making a line. Avoid guessing whenever possible. This is the biggest takeaway I got from Keys to Drawing (I didn't finish it). I don't really agree with keys to drawing focusing too much on rarely, and sometimes not, looking at your own drawing though. I think a good balance is necessary, but the way the book emphasized studying your reference made me realize that I was hardly spending enough time on them before.

Don't forget to keep drawing lots too, anon. Beginner books are fine when starting off since they usually come with exercises, but plenty of advanced books aren't necessarily meant for reading from page 1 to the end in one go like you're studying it for a test. It's a good habit to draw (usually from reference if you're a beginner) and then figure out what you did wrong, and if you can't figure that out on your own, then find your answer from a book or perhaps an art guide on youtube or somewhere.

Sketching is one hell of a drug, get out of sketch hell or you will not improve.

Not him but the issue isn't with perspective. If you compare the width of her boobs, her right boob seems much thinner. Even at first glance it strikes you. There's just no volume there and the reason you get that impression is because it's not overlapping properly with her right arm (as her left boob is with her left arm).

If the right boob was given volume properly it wouldn't go straight down like that when push with her right hand. It would go in and back out (considering anime balloon milkie physics).

This is not a perspective issue. It's an unironically feel-the-forms issue.
