4296563 No.4296563 [Reply] [Original]

Wacom just released a trailer for their newest product. It's a 13.3 inch display that connects to PC and other devices, quite possibly their way to compete directly against the iPads as a beginner tablet with display.

What do you think?

Sooo can you take this with you??

>> No.4296574

>>4296566
Seems like it's portable from the trailer but the website shows a power cord so I have no fucking idea.

>google wacom one
>find wacom has a product called "one by wacom" that's a tablet without display
Whoever named this product was a fucking idiot

>> No.4296579

So another Cintiq 13HD, I don't get what's so special by the trailer.

"connects to certain android devices"

well .. hm if this was a fully portable tablet then it would be the main ipad competitor, but if it's just another display tablet .. eh

I guess some people can use it with phone only, but you'd still need a plug and the apps are pretty meh

>>4296563
That doesn't compete with the iPad, imbecil.

>> No.4296608

It's much cheaper
Downsides from what I gathered
>1 button on the stylus instead of 2
> 0 buttons on the tablet itself
>stand has only one mode

>> No.4296609

>>4296579
It's cheaper. They're scared of losing money to other tablets now that they don't have their special pen patent anymore.

>> No.4296621

Android apps are a far cry from Procreate and CPS on the Ipad Pro, if it's cheaper it needs to be really cheap like $150 or less.

>> No.4296626

Some quick specs
> 13.3 inch AHVA display
> 1080p resolution
> 4096 levels of pen pressure
> tilt support on pen
> NTSC 72%
> MSRP at $400

>> No.4296642

>>4296621
that's silly, the pen&display technology and quality of wacom products is value, also this is a display tablet.
If you want a cheap one go with some chinese display tablet for 300 bucks or so

Even chink displays don't cost that little, you fool.

You can still find the 13HD cheaper than the Wacom One new. For $400 the screen should be 16" then.

>> No.4296668

>You can still find the 13HD cheaper
Literally where, it's discounted and used to cost $700. You buy used or forget about it

>> No.4296671

>>4296649
Okay then, I don't follow chink stuff. The cheap Cintiq 16 costs $5xx, the Wacom One should be the same price as the chinese displays then since it doesn't have buttons and the pen got discounted.

it's not trying to compete with ipad though, it's just another tablet that you need to connect to your computer. It has no OS, it's not a computer itself

Nope

This isn't to compete with an iPad. It's the Bamboo of screen tablets. It's market is casual users. You know there are way more casual users of stuff like this than serious artists and designer, don't you? And they'll sell a hot stack of them. $300, they'd sell millions of them. Hell, I'm tempted to get one just to play with, and I have a 24HD Cintiq. Colleges are gonna sell a metric ass ton of these to design students, too.

>> No.4297228

>>4296657
This isn't aimed at the same market as the 13HD. The lack of buttons should be the first clue. This is for casual users, not the prosumer market the 13HD is aimed at.

It first looked like an oversized sign tablet they had back in the day, this isn't suitable for anyone, specially not at $400, Wacom shill number #4.

It was a cool idea but the scanning wasn't perfect and it cost a lot. Most artists stuck to their bamboos and regular traditonal supplies. Wacom One is what most beginner artist want, an afforadable tablet display from the best* company in the market. It'll do well, I assure you. If I didn't have a tablet I'd buy this in a heartbeat

Considering this is priced at 400usd, seems like Wacom is trying to compete with Huion and XP-Pen in the 13" tablet monitor market. Although for that price, you can get a 16" from Huion or XP-Pen.
