I feel like challenges that are too general need to be discouraged somehow, as nice as MysticLog's Holiday Bash is, challenges like it discourage the creation of more specific challenges within the timeframe. Now if anyone makes a Christmas Challenge, Hanukkah Challenge, Festivus Challenge, etc, people will wind up just submitting their Christmas/Hanukkah/Festivus/etc Challenge submission to the Holiday Bash too, causing the Holiday Bash to be made irrelevant, since no one would wind up making anything specifically for it, they'd be making stuff for the other challenges and submitting to the Holiday Bash incidentally.

I was recently contacted for a taur commission that I did actually turn down.

2-8 hours on average, depending on the complexity. You shouldn't compare yourself to others if you struggle with impatience, though. Focus on working through your frustration to finish a piece, and repeat. You'll get faster and faster the more you do it. It used to take be 5-6 hours to do a color portrait and now I can spit them out in 30 minutes to an hour, you just gotta keep grinding for speed anon.

first of all we aren't exactly normies here, secondly, that's because those people basically have no gallery to go to, and thus concentrate there. DAD is different in so far that whether you draw cutesy stuff or loli guro, there's not really any alternative place, especially on /ic/. Also furry is allowed and makes up like 1/10th of all submissions, which is probably in line with how many artists on /ic/ are furries.

I'm going to echo the other anon and say these seem a bit more on the ambiguous level.
That being said, I'm aware of j, but he's made good faith efforts with regards to his content (with hard black-bar censoring of certain works) and communicating that on discord. I'm going to leave the past work up to the tribunal (more for him to re-censor/remove that for any punitive measure) once it's up since nobody brought it up until now, though I believe he said he intended for those previous submissions to be young but not underage.
In essence, I'm putting it off for later unless you have specific submissions you find particularly egregious or for community judgment once the tribunal comes out.

In the United States, the fourth Thursday of November marks a holiday known as Thanksgiving, where families gather together, reflect on what they're thankful for in their lives and indulge in an absurd amount of food and a giant turkey before getting into political shouting matches and awkward reminders of why you probably shouldn't invite certain sides of the family.

Jokes aside, I want to say a few things at this moment.
Even with all the baggage associated with being the site administrator of the third Last Artist Standing website, Do Art Daily, I am reminded on a daily basis why I'm thankful to be in this position. It is a great privilege to be able to share the journey of artistic self improvement with so many people. I've received countless comments of support, tons of useful criticism, and general encouragement in terms of advancing my own work and that of the site. I've seen countless DADs create interesting and engaging challenges, develop unique works interpreting those prompts, and give meaningful feedback to one another on their work. Even outside of the site, people have met up and developer meaningful relationships and deeper communities in Discord and in real life. There's a deep satisfaction in observing the growth of others even if I haven't done much of it myself. A lot of people have reached out thanking me for making the third iteration of the site, but in truth, I'm merely a third torchbearer in a lemur's mission, a mission I believe in. The rest was all your doing!
We have something special here, and I think with a bit of nurturing from the community, and a bit of technical work from my end, we can really make it into something great. So to all the people who engage with DAD regularly, and meaningfully, thank you.

I find the 2 minute rule helps me, even if I do it intermittently throughout the day
just tell myself 2 minutes is all I'll do, and then it'll turn into much longer. less if im studying and more if I'm just having fun, but always more than 2 minutes.
