My first thought? Summertime Saga meets CalArts.

The geometrical shapes seem to be chosen in order to mimic modern cartoons (which look awkward 9/10 times), but with no specific concept in mind behind your choices.
Try to design them with an unconstrained drawing first, looking for a gesture/pose and shapes that tell the viewer what the characters are supposed to do or what are their personalities.
Then you can work on simplifying them on a model sheet and giving them this geometrical quality so the Korean slaves may keep the design consistent.

Both. More dynamic gestures and more flowing lines. Look at how un-stiff human bodies are and try and capture that.

I was actually trying to avoid CalArts and was going for more of a Tartakovsky/McCracken look, however I have played Summertime Saga to near 100% on the public build (with cheat mode on).
I did draw these characters in a different style first. I will draw them in action more before coming back to sheets.

Well, the posing is stiff. Don't have the elbows locked, the eyes staring blankly forward, and the hair completely symmetrical.

Add some rhythm to the arms and the hair. Make the expression natural. Let the arms hang loosely to the sides. Don't clench her fists. Let there be a gap between her legs, instead of her standing at attention. Let her shoulders be relaxed, they shouldn't be a straight horizontal line like that.

About the turnaround, the 3/4 front and 3/4 back views aren't balanced. They're tipping over.

Actually I was thinking today that having and drawing original characters now and then is healthier and more relaxing than only fanart since even slightly off-model art of existing characters can potentially look like crap, even if the construction isn't "wrong". It's good for more laidback practice and experiments, I think.

I feel the same way about drawing my own OCs. If they’re my characters then any way I draw them is technically on-model; and I made my OCs with the main idea of trying new things and I never even made model sheets for them so I wouldn’t get hung up on any right or wrong way of drawing them.

It's fun

This is the main character of the graphic novel I would write if I weren't a /beg/ tier artist. He's a freelance mercenary who gets a once in a lifetime contract to take out a cult leader who's Threatening a peaceful village. But the job gets a lot more complicated when it turns out all the local warlords joined the cult and his target has demonic powers. The whole book would be him killing them all off one by one. There would also be a romantic subplot where he slowly falls in love with the assassin who the cult leader hires to kill him, and she also develops feelings for him. They try keep up the appearance that they want to kill each other, but they both low key like one another. I have this whole moment in my head where they finally drop the act and kiss, but again I can hardly draw more than two characters interacting with each other.

Not sure what their personalities are, but try and do somethin to personalize the jock's letterman jacket. Maybe he put somethin of his own on there, or he ripped off the sleeves, or he never bothers to button it up. As for the other guy, from his sneakers and scuffed pants I'd say... skater? I don't want to write a full story, but worldbuilding is fun.
I want to talk about their families, the relationship between each other, major locations or events...

I think a Wiki would be too much, but I can't think of anything more compact.
