I was going to do Nora Fries but she seems like a boring subject. Maybe even a female character with a frail emotional state, but I can’t think of any off the top of my head.

The very black (hair, shadows on skirt) is sumi ink. The greys are speedball pigmented acrylic ink, it’s like diluted ink I guess. I use that and dip the brush in water sometimes to get a lighter value like I was using watercolor. Page rippled just a bit on the skirt.

Yeah been all focused on like drawing out anatomy lines with hatches and then running out of time before getting to building highlights with white ink. Taking a painterly approach I reckon. Overcooking the shit out of stuff.

There’s more obvious use of the shitty white ink pen on Thissun. Tried to build medium tones on the legs by scratch hatching them up and covering them with white contour lines. Need to get a better white pen or just start using white ink and a brush for the highlight part.

one thing I think that is setting back your drawing is that it's very convoluted. I don't really understand what's going on. Is this a battlefield? why is he carrying a bag full of weapons? why is his leg so close to the viewer?

I think if you took time to develop your idea a bit more and arrange your composition in a way that conveyed this idea, it would have been a really damn good piece.

Maybe work on your line weight. With how close that leg is to the viewer, it should be a little more noticeable. And yea, that bag could use some work, looks like it'll slip right off as is. Maybe try to drape it a little closer to the skeleton's center of gravity, and maybe you could've given him more of a lean forward to emphasize the weight of his cargo.

Well idea was for the theme frail, I wanted to show something that was triumphant over their weakness. I tried to emphasize on the cracked leg with the shoddy fixing up but also wanted him to have like a glass brain and heart, I know it sounds stupid but I thought it would add to bizarness and add to that emotion of him walking through a battlefield of some 1000yr skeleton war. The bag is the reason he is there because that's his job to collect all those weapons, where do all the skeletons get their rusty swords from. So with skeleton slumping through the battlefield I tried to incorporate black wind wooshing around him but didn't get the desired effect same with the glass heart and mind shining its way through the wind and putting light on the battlefield. Idk maybe I'm fucking retarded lol

I wouldn't say its just black and white, its mostly just supposed to be a practice in traditional mediums, and being able to post consistent work. Even to the people going so far as doing digital instead of traditional, at least they're drawing.

Also, good work on the colors meshing together particularly well. When it comes to the actual application of the color, I wish you would've been just slightly cleaner with it, but that's just me. Maybe it could detract from the uneasy vibe you've got going on
