People like this intentionally feed into the system of /beg/ crippling self doubt and manipulate it to inflate their ego.Anyone just beginning that reads "sketch 221" leaves a self defeating comment along the lines of "wow! that's fantastic! my sketches can't even compare!" meanwhile the artist racks in likes while never admitting how gross or misshapen the original line-work was (or that "sketch 221" took 3-5 hours to complete) . It's kinda grimy and underhanded, but hey, whatever helps you sleep at night

This arguably could be a sketch. however, she probably refined it to the point of looking like a final piece. She might be a perfectionist, so in her mind it is a "Sketch" while really it's a finished piece.

Personally I'd imagine it's just a defensive thing. If you say 'just a sketch' it implies it was quick or rushed, not the true capacity of your skills. I think it's to deflect criticism.
