I see plenty of anons here drawing furry stuff, so explain dis. Why do so many weirdos flock to it? Is it escapism? Everytime I see a human character with a tiger/wolf/cat/whatever head I just cringe

Furries like the way anthros look. It's a different thing for everyone. Some people get nostalgic, some get lustful, some are entranced by alternate worlds, some people project themselves onto anthros, some people want escapism. There is no one reason for anything

I always liked animal cartoon characters. Cartoons are relatable, its not such a big jump to find them sexualy appealing too.

A big part of the furry appeal for me is that you are free from all the baggage that is associated with human sexuality, gender roles, etc.

That, and drawing animal characters is just fun.

I can see why some people might find it cringy or weird, thats fine.
