Pretty much impossible. Who gives a shit if a bunch of random anons think using social media is bad? Like what? Just make a twitter and start posting.

just don't post online and keep art as a hobby
social media and the art career dream are destroying my will to draw
it's supposed to be fun not fucking depressing

So have I, but I've started finally seeing significant growth the last year or two. I've been posting art online since 2012 and last year I finally got 1000 followers on a site basically overnight, there's still hope for you! Finding a following is not a linear process, you just have to keep making art and honing your skills and finding out what works.

Its literally impossible. Don't be one of those retards that make their own website and pay money to advertise when you could make a Twitter and have thousands of people see your shit for free.

Not him, but I've been 8 years at it this year. I don't have a sliver of motivation left in me despite loving to draw to a point where it's all my life is about. I go through this process of drawing tons and tons, utter depression from being completely ignored on social media I hate, abruptly quitting to draw for a week (right now I'm in this phase), nuking my accounts during a crisis (I already feel the itch), a week later I'm drawing again, harder than a Japanese weekly mangaka, until I feel pumped enough to say maybe I can make it after all, a few months to a year later I open new accounts, 0 views 0 likes 0 everything, I see teenagers drawing circles around me drawing things I don't even remotely relate to, I feel useless, stop drawing for a week, nuke everything, rinse repeat.
Add to this that I can't stand e-begging, social media marketing and culture in general and I just want to sell a story without pinning pls gibe kofi on twitter or drawing fanart of anything made after 1997, and I feel like I couldn't be in a place more wrong than this.
I feel like I could be 10 times better and I'd still be in the same spot.

I don't even post anything high effort anymore, most are throwaway things I made in 10 minutes because I get nothing for tryharding anyway.

What's your work like?
>Nuking accounts
That's really the last thing you should be doing, anon. You should try to find some other way to vent your frustration so you don't get stuck in this cycle.

Someone would get who I am since I'm the only person on /ic/ who draws what I draw.

Sorry for double post but
>That's really the last thing you should be doing, anon.
I've had accounts for years before nuking them and I barely had a following, although I was worse than today. I don't think nuking a 100 follower account is what killed my chances.

Dude, i really get your pain. Have been doing sketches and lazy stuff for weeks now because of social media.
I can't stand the whole game either but you can't do without it in the current year.
I've thought about being more myself on the socials, instead of restricting my speak and actions for the sake of having a squeaky clean image.
i do not even care anymore about making it. I just want to exist and draw.
>I'm the only person on /ic/ who draws what I draw.
hmm, i can already think of one or two possible Anons.
