I don't have a problem with Jazza. His art sucks but he's enthusiastic and inspirational because he's always trying something new without a fear of failure. It's fine for people to look up to him, he makes a positive influence on tons of people.

Personally I lean to watch guys like sinix or moderndayjames. What do you guys think of them? At least I like that they're straight to the point people who actually draw instead of doing retarded shit that's a gimmick to farm views instea dof producing something with artistic value.

sinix stuff can be great, mdj is shit. mdj is great for really beginners who can't tell how shit he is, as soon as they read some books they'll realize what he's cribbing from and how bad he is. his gumroad material is awful.

actual good "/ic/-approved" stuff is hard to find because most art channels and content isn't about the kind of stuff this board is focused on. you have to cobble together your own set of things. here are the channels i'll check out that are most in tune with my learning. i watch channels mostly for my own enjoyment and different approaches rather than straight up learning. art content is slow to be made, i go to the channels when i remember but don't actively seek out or procrastinate.

Add Jimmy Reyes and Walden Wong to the list. They're comic book inkers like Friend who do amazing work. It's a shame they're inking capeshit but they do really awesome stuff. Lots of really useful tricks you can learn from them, especially Wong.

How could you miss Feng Zhu Design. Or however it's spelled lul. The guy has done concept art for triple A titles and his videos are like the actually good classes you'd take in art class. Not to mention he has almost a decade of video content all for free.
His stuff isnt "how to draw a dragon :)" which is good. It's more about the concept or theoretical things.

all he's good for is the odd book recommendation, moderndayjames isn't great in execution but he does get straight to the point with exercises and theoretical knowledge that you can use to grow, all whilst referencing the books

The bottom line is that someone like Jazza is great at getting a younger demographic up to his level. The issue is hat his level is fairly low and he will never improve because he doesn't actually do anyhing besides what he teaches. Proko may actually produce significantly less work but he can teach and that is a great talent all on its own.

Jazza can make drawing fun for people and that is more important than them never drawing at all. Maybe it will inspire people to become better than him and actually learn things proper.
