Screenless is a delayed reward. But I'll admit its nice not having my hand cover whatever I'm drawing.

It's what 90% of pros use. The only pros who use tablets generally are graphic designers, and you don't want to be one of those, do you?

Screen but the price is really hard to justify unless it speeds up your workflow to make more money or you draw a fuckton and benefit from the slight ergonomic improvements.

There's advantages to each
Normally I'd say a REALLY good screen tablet is overall better, but there's something to be said about what you can accomplish when you don't have a pen and hand obscuring the canvas

I have 3 tablets and 1 cintiq. Also draw on paper sometimes.

I prefer the cintiq because you don't have to remember much, if you stop drawing for a while with the screenless tablet, you sorta forget the feel of it's calibration.

Though with a cintiq you basically have dual monitors anyway, so you can have duplicated windows of your drawing. Also while drawing you're gonna zoom in anyway so all those tiny details and tough lines get easier to do.

i know for sure Ruan jia uses both, cintiq in his home and screenless in studio i think.

Screenless tablets are a pain at linework until unless you use software like lazy nezumi, but if you really want to do complex things, landscapes, or big illustrations always go for a screen

just because it's viable, doesn't mean it's preferable
screen isn't objectively better, but for general purposes it's a prefered method by most

Just use an Ipadpro 11 inch and a apple Pencil mk 2. You get Procreate and you get a mini computer that is portable.

ive been using a screenless tablet for 10 years now and even if I sometimes draw on paper, I've now forgotten how to draw on paper. My paper drawings look like shit, and I fear the day I transfer to a tablet with a screen.

I have both, desu I find my best work coming from the screenless 70 dollar tablet. Mostly because I can focus on the whole canvas. With the Screen tablet I'm usually super zoomed in when I shouldn't be. But this is probably more of a personal issue.

No. you don't need any of the features of the pro versions of 16 or any other cintiq. Smaller paralax may be nice, but not critical at all.

And another nice perk is that you don't have to deal with parrallax issues and shit
