Reposted from the other thread: A tribunal is not logistically difficult to implement, and should take two to four weeks for rudimentary delivery, it's that I have philosophical reservations against the concept.

If you're not submitting 30 minutes a day, the only thing you're doing is cheating yourself. LAS has always been a way to help form and maintain stable art practice habits, while mutually motivating and aiding others in the journey. At the end of the day, it is a tool. A tool is usually only useful for its intended purpose.

Cheating the submission time requirement is ultimately only harming yourself. You can check items off a digital to-do list. You can go to Habitica and pretend you practiced thirty minutes on your oboe. You can copy and paste a pre-written code solution into a tutorial and think you've learned the basics of a language. But at the end of the day, someone's own failure is not your responsibility to police, and has no bearing on your own trajectory. I'd even argue it's a waste of time to dwell on these things, or dig through peoples' history to see if they duplicated a submission.

If enough people are insistent on a tribunal, I will increase the priority of its implementation. However, I will reiterate that ultimately, who cares if some schmuck submits garbage (beyond obtrusive spam or illegal material)? Your journey is your own.

Pretty sure the Tribunal was an automated way to let the community handle spammers, cheaters, incorrect thumbnails, obvious trolls and other miscellaneous things while Lava was not around so that he didn't have to moderate the site himself every day.

I think a tribunal is a bad idea, but moderation can be useful. Imagine how demoralizing it would be to a beginner if someone like Pii had the longest streak on the site.

Switch off of 4chan and study some good drawers. Then with a mixed set of cores take your pencils and attempt to mimic the techniques of your favourite style of drawer. Learning outline should come quite quickly as might alignment. My personal advice is not to draw an object on a plain piece of paper suspended in white. Always bother to add its background.

I have difficulty drawing at work and because of the timezone I'm in, whether or not I have time to submit before the next day's deadline is dependent on my way home from work and whether or not there is a traffic jam. I still draw every day, but because of how arbitrary and inconvenient the GMT deadline alines with my personal schedule, I don't participate. Note that it says one day. This is specifically geared towards people who live in timezones where 00:00 GMT is decidedly inconvenient. The implication here is that, your daily (assuming you chose that frequency) submission need not necessarily be done in the time between one rollover and the next. I'ts meant to give you a bit of buffer. I mean, people do that already as a bit of insurance, case in point, the so called "forza", who submit as close to 00:00 as possible on the following day. Either way, you're still going to have to churn out a submission every 24 hours, so it's not like you're cheating (unless you're deliberately stockpiling several submissions to submit later, but this is literally impossible to enforce in some cases).

I don't think obfuscated art should be allowed on dad. Even if it's verified to be legitimate by moderators. There are lots of people here who have jobs that probably take just as much time, and yet they find at least 30 minutes in their day to post something recognizable.

As far as the las discord hours are concerned, I think that if someone can't show non-obfuscated WIPs, they should wait until the product is finished, keeping track of the total number of hours and then post the total number the work took, when it's finally done. Rather than posting obfuscated WIPs.

Because of how well the performance changes have improved the memory use of the site, I can safely downgrade from a 2X Heroku dyno to a 1X.
From site management costs perspectives, this takes our average monthly cost from $75 to $50. A big change. I can consider dropping this even further (to $33) by using Hobby Dynos (which have the same memory capacity), but a 1X ensures 100% uptime through prebooting in daily dyno restarts.
