the secret is that rendering is easy... if your drawing is good. Kyle's rendering looks great because it's on top of a really strong drawing. Pretty much any rendering would look good on a great drawing. If you want to have great rendering, stop thinking about rendering so much and focus on leveling up your drawing skills.

Step 2: use a dark soft brush inside the shading you just did, closer to the "shadow source" (furthest away from the light source)
