No time at all if you're referencing straight from a 3dpig disgusting which is painfully obvious in this illustration and as a consequence the artist unbeknownst to him has delved into the uncanny valley territory with a direct conflict between the manner of style he wanted to portray from a simplified visage to a detailed and a well refined figure with forms that compliment physics.

Although it is anatomically correct, the overall result of the image is poor due to the unpleasant results coming from the lack of keeping forms in relation to one another, if you're going to draw in a simplified (and heavily stylized) manner do so in the entirety of the figure. This deviation from keeping forms in relation to one another is a very common mistake for the beginner, you should feel pity for yourself for ever suggesting that you want to reflect your draftsmanship with such a lowly and mediocre point of reference.

Moreover, your lack in a good palate for appeal is disturbing quite frankly.

Good for you for identifying the existence of shape and form and the interplay between them, however if you think that's an inherent problem or two irreconcilable concepts never to mix then you have shit for brains. In fact you don't have to dig far to find Japanese artists using reference. Whether they'll focus on shape or form at the end product will be up to the artist, not the reference they used.
