Hey senpai /bizpol/ here. I've made several million off crypto, so I figured that I'd put a few hundred thousand in art (paintings only pls) to diversify my portfolio.

The thing is I don't really know much about art and what is considered patrician stuff. I'll probably buy a few of Hitler's paintings, but I need some recommendations outside of that.

You can't buy a few hitler paintings for a few hundred thousand. There are art flipping agencies who you tell what you like and dislike, then they put together a list of young artists who you should invest in. It's a pretty disgusting business, but you seem like someone who'd enjoy it. The thing with art is that it almost never decreases in value so long as the bubble stays intact

Actually I read about Hitler paintings going for under as $10k each. One guy bought 15 of them for only $143k.

In any case, I'm not a large fan of new artists or "modern art" in general. it seems largely like a money laundering operation.

Are there any recognizable older pieces that I can find in my price range or is anything well-known going to cost millions?

Find a shitty abstract artist whose work you like. Sponsor them and buy pieces from them at insanely high prices. Then, while the value of your art is inflated, sell those paintings for a profit.
