One way to circumnavigate paypal long term is to connect your persona/brand with your patreon from very early on, and have people deliver the money for payment via pledges. Then you can tell patreon to wire the money to your bank account rather than to your paypal. It costs a little more though so you wouldn't want to do this for small monthly sums, but once you reach say $1500-$2500 a month.

This is misleading, and everyone on /ic/ has the same wrong idea about what this means.
This only hides your name ON THE INVOICE itself. Once the client pays, they will see your name on the transaction details, the same place you see the transaction id, any exchange rates, and what the transaction will show up as on your bank statement if you pull money directly from your bank account instead of having money on the paypal account. Come to think of it, it actually turn up on your bank statement too in that case.

Get along with others who already have a following. People will reblog some of your stuff if they think you're good but relatively unnoticed. It's an unspoken "I scratch your back you scratch mine" sort of community.

Some degree of non autism is required. Just reply to people some times, reblog their stuff some times. If no other artist is reblogging or subscribing to you at that point chances are they already saw your stuff and didn't think it was good enough, no need to shove it in their face yourself.

>What is the rule of thumb when it comes to posting your commissioned stuff to your blog?
Complicated legal ground depending on the agreement with the commissioner. Consult google for a few hours. Here's an overview anyway, don't trust any of it.

You can make it where you own all rights to an image and then charge them to relinquish use rights, which means you can post whatever you want unless they explicitly pay you not to do so. This is the ideal situation, where they are paying you for a service that you can do what you want with. It gets complicated with personal intellectual property, where you share ownership but retain full use rights and don't have to give them one red cent off of any profits made.

https://thepracticalartworld.com/2011/11/21/how-to-build-a-contract-for-commissioned-artworks/
This is a simple contract outline, doesn't really go into the minutiae of OC porn though.

The rule of thumb is make sure shit is legally binding so some asshole can't change his mind and make you take shit down. Always ask if you can use it for promotional purposes, most people will say yes. You're under no obligation to actually post any commissioned work.

>> No.2759748

Thanks

I guess it doesn't hurt to ask the commissioner if I can post it for promotional purposes. If they say no it's okay

>> No.2759758

>>2759748
If you end up doing more commissions, it can hurt your visibility when you aren't posting as much work because commissioners say no and hide it away. There's also work that turns out really good that can draw in more commissions and you want to make sure you have the right to post it.

It's nice to ask, it's nicer to get paid for your projected loss if they say no and have it all upfront in a contract. I'm pushing this because I had a friend get burned by it a few years ago. He does some really niche work and commissions started taking up all of his art time and couldn't post them because surprisingly not everyone with an OC wants to be associated with certain things they are into.

This is basically my problem.

I was decent enough at it and became mildly prominent as a regular porn artist for a certain fandom/series to the point that I actually started getting people asking me if I do commissions.

Problem was, my Paypal account is jointly attached to my family and having my dad's name on a hentai piece is the last thing I'd want to come out of it.

Personally I use my personal Paypal account.
As a safe measure , as soon as I have 200 euros I send the money to my bank.

Basically earn 200-400$ a month from a specific hentai niche. That's about 8-15 drawings a month depending on how many commissions I get.

Yeah it's not much but I take it as pocket money and buy myself some games , etc. Managed to buy a cintiq 13HD after 2 months of work. So worth it ;)

GL to you all

It's not complicated at all you fucking nerd, why you gotta confuse the guy?

Works for hire, nigga. Everything you draw as a commission belongs to you unless you give away rights via contract. And fucking nobody wants to sign a contract for a porn drawing.

Even private commissions are just based on good faith.

Making a contract for porn commissions is a good way to not het porn commissions.

Don't be a pussy or people will walk all over you.

Own that shit.

Good luck actually making any money from people who want to use your art for professional purposes.

As if I'm going to pay more money to a d/ic/k when there's someone just around the corner just around the corner and in fear of starving if he doesn't get his paycheck.

grats on the cintiq, how are you liking it? I personally really love mine.
Also is your niche uber obscure? or is it something that's a bit more popular than shit like giantess vore or something?

The best way to get money for porn is to become a porn actor like I did ;) By the way, a porn actor gets good money, for example, I got for my first role 800 dollars. If you want to rate, then look for me here lapippa.com/ , my nickname is ebari9lea. But you can also create your own site with porno, because these guys recently made their site quickly, qualitatively and beautiful and you can do the same thing ;) But both of these ways work )
