Jazza is pretty good at his hustle, I mean it takes a certain amount of talent (I'm not talking about drawing) to get around 800,000 subscribers, and I respect that. I mean, he's not a good artist but he is a good teacher. Of course you will have to supplement his work with better artist and your own experimentation after you get past beginner status. But he's pretty good at helping newbies out. Plus, he seems like a nice person.

In other words, he a good boi, he diddn du nuffin wrong.

Those who can't do, teach. And all that.

Honestly, I have a hard time explaining it.

Check out that video of his superhero. Doesn't look good.

Proko draws very well and I've seen some of his stuff I like. But, yeah, his imagination stuff isn't very pleasing. It's like he spent all his time studying how to become an art teacher instead of actually being an artist.

Which is really stupid and short sighted to say because he is an artist. Just... Maybe someone gets what I mean because I'm having a hard time explaining it.

IMO, he doesn't have a attractive shape language. He's not good at designing silhouettes that make a strong visual statement. He has pretty good rendering and form drawing skills but you need a strong sense of shape to pull it all together for inventive drawing.

The sitting guy is Frankenstein's monster, I think it's reasonable to have a fuckhuge torso on Frankenstein's monster. The proportions on Mrs Frankenstein are kinda bad too, tho. The arms are really thin

The huge head make him look like a dumpy manlet more than anything. Not a great stylization.

Is it possible to even get good at imaginative drawing?

Should I give up right now and just start using pictures of myself in my pieces?

Any sort of imagination drawing draws from your visual library. The more diverse angles/poses/whatever you draw over time the easier it'll be to construct one "from imagination".

>> No.2724479

>>2724453
get good at drawing from imagination, so you can draw any pose you want whether you have a ref image that fits it or not, the use refrences to make your image the absolute best it can be, there is nothing wrong with using ref as long as you aren't limited to it. Notice that none of the references proko used are the exact pose he used, just close enough to be useful.
