You should see the side of his face dead on while also looking at the underside of his neck at the same time. Walk me through what makes this so horrifying to you. I might get it if someone was going around photographing people but there's zero way anyone can identify a person from a 7 minute sketch, it doesn't violate her privacy because she was just fucking sitting there in public.

How do you carry your stuff with you? Any tips on easy to carry pencils? Mechanical ones are obviously simple because you can just clip them on and don't have to sharpen them, but the line leaves some to be desired.

Things that have a small part that needs to be protected like brushes and pencils I use transparent rubber tubing for. There are also pocket or travel brushes you can buy. Nicest cases are small tin boxes which fit some brushes (w/ sawed off handle), short pencils, utility knife blade for sharpening, eraser and couple of watercolour half pans.

Cheap toothbrush containers are just the right size to hold pencils and brush pens (the Pentel squeezable ones). For mechanical pencils, 0.9mm ones or 2mm lead holders can do anything a normal pencil can do.

Why do you use fountain pen for sketching? I'd like to know what's it good for because to me it seems like not a good tool to sketch with, care to explain, because I am new to art?

I need to work on making more deliberate lines, like the ink choices available, really liked the idea of quick watercolor shading without bringing out the watercolors, hate ballpoint pens and it's what grandpa vilppu uses.

You can get a variety of line weights approaching that of a brush pen (though not with this particular one), it does flawless hatching, feels really good in the hand and leaves a more "finished" result than pencil. Before this I was using a pentel hi-tec but it is super water resistant and won't do those washes. I prefer pencil for general sketching and fucking around, but when I want to get something across fast, I like working directly in pen and wash. They tend to yield very different results and not having to translate from the mark making language of pencil to pen keeps you focused on your original intent, for me at least.

Most of all, I have a shit time trying to push value and having the full range available without endless scribbling or switching pencils is the giraffe's necktie.

Whatever you want if you're good enough. Good enough being relative to the niche you choose. The problem is, even if you can match one of http://popufur.com/ in quality which isn't too difficult, you have to pump out a lot of shit all the fucking time to build a fan base who commissions. This can take months. It's not the kind of community you can just show up in and put up your shingle. You have to be pretty dedicated to pick up more than sporadic work.

It's a thing you'd be stupid to do if you didn't enjoy it. I doubt you have the drive to draw inane memeshit and weird porn of whatever is popular this week (undertale). You have to know what is hot and to do that, you have to have shit taste in vidya and a boner for anything fuzzy. You lack the fetishistic compulsion that drives the kind of vision it takes to create your own genre niche, because the only money is in shit other people aren't doing. Muscle shota is extremely underexplored, but I doubt you want to. Otherwise, you have to have some kind of reputation to get good rates or otherwise have to do some serious undercutting.

Once you overcome those hurdles, the neetbux just flow into your paypal.

You don't even have to draw full blown porn. You can make plenty of dosh with pinup art. The trick is that you need to start putting out something furshit related every week or so starting now. Once you have a presence and are on people's feeds, moving into doing commission work is easy.

You could actually get away with doing concept art anthro characters and monsters if it's interesting enough. There's a lot of not-porn money to be had but it's a very different process and comes too close to putting shit on tumblr and hoping for commissions, which is what you were trying to avoid in the first place. There's still a lot of opportunity, it just takes that reputation and backlog of shit that shows off what you do and gets you commissions.

You can always put the two together by making art for a kickstarter scam game AND drawing porn of it.

It's nothing that exceptional at the moment but it's good that you're going for clean lines. You've got a good start at getting things to look reasonably right without too much hairy-lined sketching, and having good control / being able to plan and get things right from the get-go will be useful for you.

Make a light rough sketch for the proportions first, and don't add any detail before you have those proportions.

Also, learn how the muscles work, not just how they look. The whole system of the body is much easier to remember if you imagine it like a machine (which it kind of is). Like how your biceps contracting moves lifts your forearm, contracting your triceps lowers it. The deltoids are attached to the collarbone and shoulder blade, and only ever look as bulbous as in your drawing when you raise the entire arm above your head.

I can keep writing but all of this will become natural to you if you draw from reference. (And don't get to the details too soon. Big underlying shapes first!)

I'm not quite the best at hands, but I think I improved a lot from my previous work when I actually started to really look at my hand and mentally trace the outlines of the fingers and palm.

I also made sure to break down the hand into just circles and squares. I slightly curved certain squares where the finger was bent.

Sketchbook threads are generally for exercises, studies, and attention whoring. I understand that any drawings can be posted here, but people are posting beginner work and ask absolute beginner questions and wanting legit critique. If they want to improve, get good crit, and actually have questions answered, they should find themselves in the beginner thread.
