I procrastinate because of really bad drawings.
I dont improve because of procrastination.

Why does it have to be such pain in the ass?

Just rip your bad drawings and throw them into thrash and move on to the next one that's how I got over the really beginning.

bad advice. Look at your bad drawings and choose a part to work on. Improve, fgt.

I have a different problem tho: I dont improve. I draw, and draw, I am trying to fix shit, but still its not any better than the last one.

Is this a brain sickness or what

If you procrastinate drawing so much, you probably shouldn't be drawing in the first place. You won't go anywhere with it if you hate doing it.

"I want to be good at drawing portraits"

"Today I will draw portraits"

"I will focus on learning about drawing the eyes"

"Hmm, now that it's done, I'll do some comparison with a reference"

"I will make sure I learn something new today about eyes"

"Eyelids have volume, and they go across the eyeballs. They are not perfectly almond shaped. When the eyelids are open, there is a crease, or wrinkle formed on the top of the eyes."

"Wow, I learn something new today"

"I will work on it and refine it more today"

"Hopefully I will learn something new tomorrow"

Change focus, rinse, repeat.

Don't worry. If you ever get good, you'll still hate drawing and keep procrastinating.

Does drawing get more enjoyable when you're more competent and don't feel lost/useless all the time so you can relax a little more and actually enjoy it?

>> No.2142734

>>2142647
Yes. Everyone has to grind to get good, but when you do, it'll be so worth it.

>> No.2142778

Quit taking it so seriously. I scribble something funny out of my botched study, laugh it off, delete it and move on to the next thing.

Enjoy drawing. It's good to take your work seriously, but if you fuck up you may as well take a moment to have a bit of fun.

90% of life's problems are solved by adjusting your attitude towards things.

This.

>> No.2142797

guess thats good for me then, op, because the thing that demotiates you from drawing motivates me, to get out of this mess.

not everyone will make it huh?

>procrastinate because of really bad drawings

Go browse deviantart for about 10 minutes, then realize that with even a week of practice and an open mindset you can be less shit than them.

Besides, people aren't going to look at your shitty drawings and laugh at you. You're not posting them publicly.

Don't procrastinate because your drawings are shit. Draw more because your drawings are shit.

>> No.2142894

Kek, I was the exact same. Make sure you have fun when you draw and don't worry, we're all bad at first, it takes time to develop a skill, especially art. My best advice is to optimize your practice sessions. Grind away, learn from the masters. The more time you spend drawing, the better you'll be, moping around is a waste of time that could have been spent getting good.

Protip: if your drawings are flat, study Vilppu

The problem is I draw for 2 years now, and I still didnt grasp the basics. I dont know what the fuck is wrong with me, maybe i am not focused enough, I dont know, I have a hard life, it affects me in a way I am stressed.

you're drawing wrong then.

Read sticky, read keys to drawing, do the exercises

did I mention do the exercises in keys to drawing

You won't see a change overnight, but keep your most recent drawing, then look back at it after you have finished said book

You can make a million excuses, but none of them are going to take you where you want to go.

>> No.2142976

Study and copy, you can't make something out of nothing, nothing is original, everything is a remix, study from other artists that have experience in the skills you want to acquire. Also READ THE STICKY, You're better off relearning things than assuming that you don't have to relearn them just because you can already do it.

>tfw too much of a perfectionist

I can't decide what to draw or practice because it feels like if I picked the wrong thing, it would be inefficient and therefore a waste of time. Too bad if I actually drew anything I would be okish by now.

>> No.2144338

Okay, how do I replenish the energy for drawing? I was studying some boring ass shit with little to no effect, now I feel tired and it will become soon something worse.
