I didn't say for him to draw from imagination, I said for him to try and develop method for drawing from imagination. I'm saying he needs to develop a process and work on it. You can do reference studies all you want, it won't help for shit if you don't have a process. Is this not true?

but that's true, learning how to draw sucks ass at first, and it's much more fun when you get better. Does anyone even disagree with that?

Art actually is very hard, uniquely so, and I actually am amazed so many people are able to do it so well given that it is a difficult thing. You only need to look at all the numerous baddies out there to know this is true.

Everything I do and speak comes almost entirely from personal experience, in fact I'm pretty sure everything I said was mostly contrary to what most people say. People don't say to work smart, they say to work harder. Good artists almost never talk about how hard art is and what it takes to make something good. You have actually accused me of the one thing I hate the most, and it is literally the precise opposite of what I have actually done - I am very, very independent in my beliefs.
