Ok anon I was in your situation up until a few months ago, this is what helped me:
>Have your sketchbook in a place that is easily accessible and/or in your sight
>Every day at least try to place the sketchbook on your desk. You don't have to draw, just have it on your desk.
You can stop here, it took me several days of just having the fucking thing on my desk to make me want to draw again. Don't beat yourself up for not drawing,
>Open the sketchbook
>Try to get in the habit of doodling small things every day. An eye, a mouth, a rock, a plant, a hand, etc. "just draw bro lol" applies here
>You can stop here if you want.
Again, don't beat yourself up. The objective is to fish you out of the hole you're in. Even if you're drawn one little thing, that's good.
>Try to fill one page with simple doodles. Hate it? Trash it. Do it again.
>After you get comfortable, try upgrading the scale of your drawings. A face, an arm, a body, an animal, a simple background and so on
>Experiment drawing from life too
Don't feel bad if you fall off. Start with the small doodles again until you feel good again.
>but muh drawing isn't perfect and i only drew one little thing :((
Expecting every drawing to come out perfect is going to fucking kill your motivation. Don't expect to pump out illustrations every day too. Don't hold yourself up to people that upload every day, that's not your pace yet.
Extras:
>try to find a motivation; a series, a person, a hobby, food you like to eat, an objective
>"by 20XX i'm going to become pro" is a vague objective and will fuck you over. don't do that shit. "i will become as good as X" is also vague
>take drawing lessons in a judgement free environment. ideally everyone in the class is a student and is there to learn.
>downside: if there are deadlines to meet in the class you might get burnt out if you're not careful
>unironically go outside and try your best to observe the surroundings and try to imagine drawing them in your mind
Godspeed anon

based /beg/fag. I'm only an /int/ though, I'm no industry vet. I get commissioned by long time honest friends, friends that always praise your drawings may be comfy, but they more often than not don't have dough.
