Just hoping to get some of the standard ways that people have learned how to properly learn the fundamentals of coloring and valuing their work.

Are there standard resources that everyone uses when they start? General do's/don't that you have would be invaluable too. I just don't know where to begin, and I want to start "the right way" if there is one.

I was sketching this today and decided that I was going to try and color it. That's when I realized I have no clue what to do.

It's painfully apparent that I'm lacking in a lot of different areas, but coloring / shading is definitely still pure magic to me. Any tips for starting to approach coloring / shading / values the right way?
