If I want to learn art, should I start with pencil and paper? Or should I just go straight with a tablet?

Any reason why anyone would use pencil and paper anymore?

How do you traditional chads get your paper drawings into the computer and still looking good on the screen. I tried scanning but they look bad and washed out like they lost all their soul.
