what the hell is the point of all these "studies" and drawing naked men? I get so fucking mad when I see sketchy styles that are a thousand times better than my polished turds

When an artwork is really honest it has soul. ie. No hiding behind a fake put on style that isnt how youd naturally draw, or cleaning it up to the point you cant see the human hand that made it. As soon as it feels the artist is hiding something from you it loses all soul

Most comics are just storyboards for people who don't have enough money for making a movie. Sometimes authors might remember it's NOT a movie and add a broken panel or some action lines.

Manga on the other hand is a constant flow of motion. From paneling and linework to SFXs and typesetting. The detail is not a distraction, it's a reminder that things are not standing still for a cameraman. Detail doesn't need to be chaotic, as pic related shows. Chaos is a choice.
