Draw bigger and try hatching. I first do the lineart, like the one you did.. And then select which areas are brighter and which ones are darker (in my drawing there's 6 values but do not concern yourself with that yet). Now that you did some lines to indicate the light values... Start doing focused straight lines. Very carefully and it'll look pretty, do not rush, it shows and breaks the pace. Do more lines in the dark area so it looks almost fully black, since the lines are all together, and few, way too separated lines in the bright areas. Then for the normal areas do something between that.
