If you know about color theory you don't need blending modes. If you REALLY want to take the easy route grab a picture whose skin color you really like and apply it to your own piece.

Anyways, I would like you to spend 10 seconds holding down the color picker button and see how the saturation and value changes on this flower, paying attention to where the light is hitting it, and where it's in shadow.
