The end result is a figure regardless of the medium it was made from or whether or not you used a fucking box cutter to carve it with. Hell you could place a random rock behind a glass cabinet and people will start invoking more thought behind the rock but at the end of the day it's just a rock.

So what if we consume Ai illustrations of a favorite character in practically unlimited styles and quantities, what have you done to produce content besides the academic study of a profile face or the usual 3/4 floating animu head in the void of space?

This post perfectly encapsulates the average Artist, he wants to be put under a spot light just because he drew something. You're not a special snowflake, buttercup. I believe part of the appeal from the Ai is that it essentially bypasses the Artist's paywall for attention. Nobody cares about you, we only care about the content we're interested in and the unfortunate part about it is we have to deal with the likes of you unlike with the Ai.

Not him but you're moving goal posts by claiming an apple does not become an apple until it is plucked by a certified Chef with a culinary finesse. Take pic related as an example of Ai being a tool to produce Art, somebody was kind enough to provide a rendition of a drawing of this Miku posted on /ic/ however the original drawing did not posses appeal and failed to leave an impression until it was refined by the Ai and as a result both drawings became memorable (the initial drawing being mogged) with the Ai drawing taking the spotlight. I actually have pic related as one of my desktop wallpapers thanks to the Ai.
