"Talent" is just a fancy word people use to describe the "esoterism" of art and the creation of it without needing to explain or prove anything. The words people look for are affinity, skill, ability and similar actions that describe our inputs in pursuit of a desirable outcome... but people dont like to use those for a myriad of reasons: Whether it's boring to boil art down to our own physical and mental inputs, it's hard to explain how our actions lead to specific outcomes... or in the case of 90% of this board, they are too afraid to accept our results are a directly caused by their own actions and they are in full control and blame for them.

When I hear a normie talking about talent, I know they just dont know how it works, they think art is like magic and I cant blame them for this belief.
But when I hear you faggots talk about talent, I know you're avoiding accountability, it's easier to blame the random number generators than blame yourself. You're pathetic.

This board's inability to draw and let draw sure is impressive. Draw characters and give them meaning, that's very good, but if all you want to draw is meaningless characters sitting in a void, that's perfect to. Do what you want as long as you have fun.

I dont have anything tangible for my light novel project at the moment, though I've been working on random drafts to fine my writing skills, I could polish one of the finished drafts and post it if you want. My first goal would be drawing the main cast and finish chapter 1.

I'll humor you, you say art is objective as opposed to subjective and there are objective measures of art... skill...???

You say "art skill", not "art", which -believe it or not- are but a portion that influences human's perception of beauty, the true measure of arts... which is subjective at it's core because beauty is in the eyes of the beholder even if there are semi-objective guidelines that humans subconsciously lean towards (like fundamentals of art and design principles).
Those elements of art dont make art any less subjective because no human brain is alike and what's beautiful to these wont be to those, you can NOT quantitatively measure beauty.

Even for adults, sexual topics are a difficult topic to bring to the table, specially in a professional environment, you cannot afford people to disrupt a said environment by dwelling into topics that can easily go from "artistic" to "outright obscene" with a few wrong moves, specially when you dont know people's mindset on said topics and cant be sure that participants would keep it civil.
Your best choice is to board the topic in the most professional way possible in an environment where people are well aware of the respective boundaries of the topic.
