How do Digital artists keep track of bodies whilst on screen

I tend to find that I can do a base part fine, but fitting them all together is impossible

Ie. Head too big
Arms too long
Legs too fucked in comparison to the body

I spend more time Lassoing and readjusting than I do actually drawing

I don't have the same problem doing stuff on paper though
