Feng zhu is fast at making lineart but it's still overall quite slow, especially in terms of how long it takes to clean up. A comic relies on a sense of movement, and Feng Zhu does a lot but his talents do not lie in expression, gesture, or dynamicism. These things are not only accomplished with practice, but also immediacy. Obviously we must approach our art with care and attention, but at the same time a drawing of someone running is not enhanced by multiple passes over its lines to make them perfect and nibbly. Take this illustration by Ashley Wood as an example of 'first stroke' techniques being applied to lend movement to a picture
