>It's like they're afraid that if they give out decent advice someone will get better than them.
This is true unironically. Most art Youtubers are a psyop to slow down the progress of artist who could potentially become competitors. They give you legit advice, but it's just what works for them as actual professionals. This is so people less skilled than they are think "that guy is really good, i should follow his process so I can draw just as good". For example, yesterday I saw a schoolism video where some dude who works for disney shared how he draws heads at different angles. He barely used construction, and only drew a circle for the cranium and a triangle for the nose as construction. Obviously this works for him because he's a pro and he's got all the other shit in his head, but if I had seen that as a beginner, I would have fallen for it.

I sleep 7-9 hours every night but I feel incredibly fatigued when I wake up. 3 cups of coffee helps me get my mind straight. I can function well without caffiene, and I often go without it, but I'm only goodat drawing when I drink a shit ton of coffee.
What do?
